Project Runway Emmy 4 Runway

The challenge was to make a dress inspired by some Lexus car colors for Emmy Red Carpet for former Project Runway ladies. And the worst part was the partnering. Chris Palu, who already has a 'will they fuck?' rivalry with high voiced Gunner, was partnered with Andrea Katz, 52.

It was so funny that it is only the third episode and I already know how Chris will react. They had to make a dress for last competition's winner Anya.  At first, he was so thrilled to be paired with Andrea. I was like, 'No No No.' He had no idea that last challenge Tim Gunn told her to scrap her awful zestless dress (lazy design of sewing together candy button sheets) and she still did it, got safe and was still proud of herself.

And he found out the hard way--crying and complaining about her on the runway to the judges. He said he didn't want to point fingers but he exaggerated that it took 12 to 14 hours for her to cut the dress. She felt upset and betrayed so she threw him under the bus as well. It was the highlight of the episode. Even guest judge Krysten Ritter (of Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23) was trying to stop from laughing. She was bitchy as well.

Andrea comes from the long line of contestants that are older than the other designers and don't know what they are doing and so stuck in their ways. I wish it wasn't so predictable but oh well. So Chris was thrilled to be 'in' and not out. He cried and stress out about it. Relax bro. I was shocked to find out Andrea was in and not out. I thought she would be. I would miss the accent of the guy who was dumped that I forget his name. And then it turns out that Andrea 'ran away.'

Pharell kicked out Jerell from Project Runway

Pharell was the guest judge and Jerell was kicked out, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. In Season 5, he was the fourth and now he was the fifth.

Miss Piggy on Project Runway All-Stars

This was an awesome campy funny episode. I was looking forward to this episode! The designers had to make an outfit for her for the premiere of the Muppets (this obviously was shot before the movie came out). The costume designer of Gossip Girl and Sex and the City looked more campy in his outfit than Miss Piggy. Rami picked a stereotypical expected outfit for Miss Piggy but she loved it. Everyone else thought it was simple. Mila did a goth outfit. Gordana did a 'surprise!' boring and dull outfit. Michael made an outfit that was like for both Piggy and real women. Miss Piggy was just so hilarious and 'hiyah!' the costume designer for keep mentioning her ears. I would had liked to see her do that to Michael Kohrs or Nina Garcia. Will they ever guest judge?! Maybe they are saving it for the last.

Project Runway All-Stars Episode 2

Surprise surprise I am doing a review on Project Runway, but I didn't even know it was on. I was looking forward to this. lifetime has done zero off-channel promotion because I had no idea. I was not surprised at some returns like Mila, Mondo, Christopher, Austin, Kara, Rami and Michael and Sweet P but who I am surprised at is the one I hated the most---Kenley! Seriously? Kenley? Anyway, I was also surprised that boring Gordana was asked to come back. I like Kara, always liked her personality. It is not all-stars but more like D-List (not talking about Rami, Mondo, Christopher, Austin, and anyone before season 4). I love Tim Gunn but I welcome a change with Joanna, who we know as a judge before and I think she is a good mentor and different---as she asks the others who are their biggest competition, something Gunn wouldn't ever ask. The winner will be an editor and she is an editor, so it works.

Anya is another Fourth in Project Runway History

Anya not going to the final three is s sad.. what? no! She is going too? Yes! They have done fours before. Josh of course had to have a problem with it, I swear everything he said in the show was hilarious but not on purpose on his part.

Project Runway After the Show

After the Show is a new 30-minute show after Project Runway, which isn't as great as the other behind-the-scenes shows. Joshua personally attacked Laura (season 3) came as a blogger and interviewer. This was obviously staged and more staged before others. Joshua even calls this out (saying she was being nice to the others and not , he even threatens her saying it is not a pleasant meeting. The interviewer blonde lady tried settling it but Joshua didn't look that happy. Joshua runs out before the others at the end, predictably. I like what Laura said because it was true. I was surprised that Laura didn't appear and that they didn't mention where she was, I suppose she wasn't a focus in the episode. It is true that viewers are to make Joshua into a villain and it looks like that in the episode, a seriously disturbed little child who doesn't know how to even rebuttal appropriately (I'm not hiding behind the computer). And yes, I would say this in his face. He is not a needle in a haystack, he is just another piece of hay, reminding me of many other gay men like him. I liked what Viktor said about being gay but it felt a bit like an excuse. Young Gay men got to stop being Joshuas and start being Viktors. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Anya dealt with criticism better.

Project Runway: Joshua should had left

I know that the judges of Project Runway send people home by the garment in the challenge and not the talent of the past, but Joshua should had been sent home. He had a near meltdown when they told him his outfit was horrible (it was more 80's than 70's)---even though Anthony Ryan's wasn't great either, at least it was 70's and not like Joshua's and Joshua even almost burst when Victor simply said he knew the 70's from movies, even though he wasn't born in it. Joshua asked like they were asking for outfits inspired by the 1470's and like the 70's was this faraway decade. I was born in the 80's and know 20's fashion more or less and am not a fashion guy. Anyway, Anthony is a cancer survive and he was positive about his farewell, so more power to him! Heidi even said he was cute. By the way, Anya was a make-it-work example as she lost her $100 and made an outfit with Anthony's $11.50 and became the winner!

Project Runway Blow Up

Josh M. melted down, he exploded and the show made him look crazy. I am sure he is going to say that he isn't really like that and that the show edits stuff to make him look nuts. He broke down in the confessional camera, about his mom dying. He called his dad and he is surprisingly supportive. This challenge was a team challenge, splitting the 10 into 2 groups. Bert and Josh clash, naturally. Last week we find out that Burt is not straight and is actually gay. He didn't get along with Anthony nor Josh, poor Burt, can't get along with his fellow gays. I think Josh really needs therapy, that he seems to into himself and doesn't want to let people in and overreacts about stuff and has a diva ego. Calm down man. Take this too seriously.

Project Runway Season 8 Finale Review

Wow, a pee break. The discussion between the Judges was interesting. This was a 2-hour special and the reunion special was sandwhiched in between. I wish it was a bit longer so they could lay more into Ivy. And those promos with the Fairy Job Mother were horrible, those guys are no actors, well, except for Ivy. I loved what the judges had to say. I didn't like Andy's, I like Mondos, but I think it could have had more oomph, it wasn't as strong or polished as Seth Aaron's last year, and they were very much alike. Gretchen's looked much more better with styling, but it could have had more color and more diversity. Gretchen wouldn't stop crying through the 2 hours, it is true that women get called bitches when they are strong but she did say back-handed and two-faced things about the designer's designs. She said it wasn't personal but to their faces, she said the DESIGNS were good and then something else to the cameras. But I know women like her. ARGH, I can see her panties! Eww!

Salt and Sugar, which is your choice?

Project Runway: Andy vs. Michael

I knew it would be Andy vs. Michael. I feel for them all, they all did good, but all together, they really need to grow. I was like, that's all? All other seasons have been more polished, more together. I knew Michael would be out, because they showed a promo of next week and they showed Michael in the work room while they show everyone else at Fashion Week. It look so sad seeing Michael by himself, the episode really made you feel for Michael. I don't hate Michael, I think in reality Andy should have be kicked out. Michael really has a polished collection and Andy's headdresses are ugly and only the green last minute one I liked, I mean he did his collection in 2 weeks, he is a lot better in a hurry. Poor Michael, Gretchen and Andy were such bitches to him to begin with. I don't blame when he cried and hit the wall. I didn't like that Gretchen hugged him, she is so full of shit. But I do feel bad for her that she was practically homeless and moneyless. I didn't like her clothes, they were boring, the only one I liked was the green one. Apparently green works for Andy and Gretchen.

Project Runway Season 8 Final Five Review

The final 5 were Gretchen, April, Andy, Michael C. and Mando. Tonight April was sent home. Gretchen was strung out and admitted she didn't like the challenges. She's nuts, she is debt and has done some gambling with her credit, she is also super bitchy---still criticizing the other's designs yet she can't take critiques right. April just didn't take risk, Tim Gunn told her to use color, yet she did not. When everyone was asked for asked 2 to pick to go to Fashion Week, no one picked Michael C. and everyone looked bitter when he was the first to be picked and win. Michael has talent and the others are jealous, it looks like laziness but he really puts thought into what he will do. I think next week it will for sure by Andy vs. Michael C. for the third spot because the finale will definitely be between Mando and Gretchen.

Project Runway Ivy Returns and Drama Ensues

Lots of drama has been in a workroom, but never this much. The old designers return and Ivy tells the people in the room that Michael C. cheated in one challenge, using tape to hold up the dress. Michael gets flustered and then he says 'fuck' to her. Ivy says he is the devil. Michael is offended. Ivy even mentions that he shouldn't be cursing because he's son will see it on TV. Ivy then proceeds to talk to Mando and Mando doesn't want to hear it. Ivy mentions karma and the producers decide to show video of her getting pocked in the eye after she says that in an interview. Hilarious. Tim Gunn says it is 'he say' 'she say', that it is a non case. Michael confessed that he was sad. Tim said to put it behind him. Ivy is bitter and she is a bitch. She should just get over it. Michael is hurt and I get it when you are in a room with people who resent you, but you got to get over it to and move on. It is a competition, it is not the Real World.

I am surprised so many people want Michael C out, especially the girls. And it was Mondo and Gretchen that had a tough discussion with Heidi. Heidi can be super strict and super German and it got real tense. I felt sorry for Mondo. Mondo and Gretchen could have handeled it better. Gretchen is so two-faced, she said Michael C should have gone and then she 'supports' him and tells him to move on. One of the judges mentions that the outfits look like they are worth $10 but that is Heidi's brand! That is the looks she showed the gang, they looked cheap, I mean, they are meant for middle-class mothers. I think Christopher got brought down by Ivy, Ivy kept reassuring him and giving him ideas, making his stuff look blah. Christopher has a cute boyfriend but his fashion is bland and not for fashion week, he did really get real far so kudos. Christopher never got a win before.

It is hard this year to tell who will be the final 3, every year it is kinda easy to tell. This time, it could be anyone. April is strong. Gretchen could had been an easy bet in the beginning, but now I am not sure. I know for sure Mondo will be one. Andy, I don't like his clothes or his peck face but some people like him. And Michael C., even though the judges love him, he might not make it. So it could be Gretchen-Mondo-Andy or it could be April-Gretchen-Mondo or Mondo-Michael-April or Gretchen-Michael-Mondo or Mondo-April-Andy.

Project Runway Heartbreaking

The pattern challenge was a heartbreaking episode (most of the designer's mothers came and Chris' man and Michael's son). Truly, other than April & Mondo, their patterns and outfits were ugly and boring. Valerie was awesome by telling each designer what she liked about them. Very classy. Finally, the cheating episode is next week.

Project Runway this week Review - Lorelei Project

Valerie said her dress was Rainbow Brite on crack and it was not, it was WHITE. Rainbow Brite on crack, would be a giant amount of colors, crazy rainbow look. AND I didn't like Nina's Guatemala comment. That did not look Guatemalan at all, no dress at all looked Guatemalan at all! I say this because my parents are from Guatemala. Varlie clarified that her family is from Guatemala and Nina then said 'no offense.' I am a bit offended because it meant Guatemala style is tacky. But bygones, she apologized, it's over. Also, I didn't like Andy's Reese-cups on his model's high-end dress.

Project Runway: Peach has Issues

I am glad that Michael D. was not taken out, because he did a good job and his client liked it Peach was for sure Sweet P and Stella of the season. But she doubted herself too much and I think she calls for drama when not needed. Last challenge, he brought drama with the group when it wasn't needed, I think it was too much for her. I think she made too much about age, she should have just relaxed. But her challenge, I think she chose to quit.

Project Runway Episode Review Teams

There were two teams: the Underdogs and the one out of the majority of winners and the self-proposed good ones. Six in each team. The loosing team (Team Luxe) was very bland and vanilla, how Kohrs said. Gretchen took over the team. I did like how she stood by and said that there was no weak link. When before she said Michael C. was the weak link. The proportions were bad and it all looked uniformed. Gretchen said she was going to double-back but she did, she back stabbed. Hilarious. They all picked on Michael, as they were repeatedly told that they couldn't take Michael home, that only of the 5. They ALL were jealous of Michael, and still didn't understand why he won last time. The judges really liked Michael's design last time. The judges thought it was because of his immunity. They don't know EVERYONE thinks Michael is weak. The biggest problem of the group was that they didn't do each outfit, they worked on different pieces. It was all confusing. The second problem is that the six have their big egos, so its hard to work together.

As for the winning team, the colors were awesome and it is so funny that Casanova won (I think he did deserve it), when he had a big drama queen moment and was doubting himself. He was brought back by his model. I think it was good they worked seperately on their own outfits, but had the common theme and accessories, that really went together. It was great they 'stepped it up a notch,' when I first saw this group, I honestly said out-loud that they were losers but they proved themselves, tremendously. They really had no leader and worked together. Peach did make a bit of conflict, but I think she was really nervous and brought it out. I liked the use of Spanish in this season, I think past seasons have avoided showing designers speaking Spanish.

Project Runway S8 Already started???!!!

Lifetime has done really really bad advertising for season 8 because I didn't even know it already started.

Project Runway S7 Reunion Special

Oh! I miss the Reunion Specials! The last one was the one with Sweet P. They didn't do one with season 5 and 6. I am happy they did this! So thank you! I didn't like that they mixed up the models and designers together. I wish they split them up so I would be able to recognize the earlier designers, not that they look like models but it was confusing. Emilio is very bitter, petty and doesn't think things through. Nina told him the blunt truth. Anthony is the only one to be recognize now. He said a toll booth lady stopped him. Ping is so absent minded that she forgot she was on the show. Jonathan clarified things to Carrie. Emilio is nuts, making a jab by taking Amy's model when she took his (Holly). Nina and Tim know how to push buttons for the special, like Tim asking Holly how she felt about the pink bikini.

Emilio was called out, on his shit, he would apologize but it is all bull shit. Tim asked Holly if she is satisfied with his repsonse. Jay was on fire, maybe too bitchy. Jay crossed the line with Carrie. Poor Carrie, I like Carrie, she stood up for Jonathan and was burned by more than one designer and countless models. So funny that Emilio said he doesn't say anything and then he does gossip and talk shit. Jay, Mila and Antony's bitchinesses feud was entertaining. Mila apologized to Anthony, so classy. Anthony apologized too, he was asked in New York Post and he said '50 years old bitch' and said it had not to do with her age. He apologized in very funny Anthony wrap-around style, "I can't give her a kidney."

Nina asked Maya the real reason she left. She revealed that she just graduated recently and said she wasn't ready for the rest. That she had to grow up, to figure out her vision. Nina wanted her to be part of it. She says she doesn't regret it. Valeria the model knew Seth Aaron was going to win, she did what she did and it doesn't seem like she regrets it. Kristina is happy about it, she cried and says she loves Valeria, she found it sad that she had to leave the show, wish that she could have been in the end with Seth Aaron. But we are happy for Kristina for winning. Tim admits he can make mistakes, he says it comes from him, he cares for them and I believe him.

Project Runway Season 7 Finale

It was really a tough decision tonight for the three judges. They all looked awesome, I loved Seth Aaron's more. Emilio was commercial, I didn't like the colors at all, it did look 90's but not a homage to the 90's but taken out completely out of the 90's. Mila's for me was not surprising, pretty but a bit repetitive (with the black and white). Seth Aaron's was also a bit repetitive, with the plaid swatches. I did like some pieces from Mila's and Seth Aaron's but none of Emilio's. But that is my personal taste. For Seth Aaron, I loved the blue one, that was called purple by the judges (I guess my TV's saturation is not great and I don't have Lifetime in HD) and the judges didn't like it, they thought it borderlined costume-y. I thought it blew me away when I first saw it. Below, you can see it and it is indeed purple!

Emilio looks a bit like a bum, with the jacket and black scully hat. I am sorry to say I was happy to hear Mila was 'out' and then again, I would be happy to if Emilio was called out. Emilio was unperfessional, he kept making faces when the judges applauded the others. Seth Aaron knew how to dres for the show. Yes! We all knew who would win. Seth Aaron was a winner since the beginning. Congrats to his family and congrats to him. I am glad Emilio did quote Anthony but I will not miss his lisp and his judging of others. Seth Aaron is also the youngest of the group and he is amazing that he made so many outfits.

Tim Gunn visits the Designers on Project Runway

I love the episodes where Tim Gunn visits the finalists. I always look forward to those episodes. The final four are no surprise, they are Seth Aaron, Emilio, Jay and that lady with the hair. I like how Tim Gunn is harder on this season than the past two seasons at least. He has been speechless for Christian. But for these four, he has been very tough and critical. And the four were real tough and defensive back to him (especially the wasp, Jay, and Emilio). In TV Guide magazine, Tim Gunn was critical of Emilio's hardware bikini and said he is a good bullshitter and they got in a shouting match in their house. He was tough on Seth Aaron (saying he had to start over) but Seth was at least receptive.
