My Little Pony/Transformers that share names

I did know that Transformers and My Little Pony shared some names, as they are both owned by Hasbro but after doing research, I find out that Transformers share more names with G.I. Joe. According to this All Wiki page, they share about 85 names. According to the same page, MLP and Transformers share 15 names, but some are a bit of a stretch as it isn't the exact name. For example, there is a Transformer named Scoop but in MLP there is Sweet Scoops and Sweet Cream Scoops. Here are some that have the same exact names:

Beachcomber
The G1 Autobot was a beach buggy.  G1 Beachcomber for MLP was a sea pony and the G3 Beachcomber is a pink Earth Pony with a flower. G1 Autobot appeared on the Transformers TV show and G1 Beachcomber sea pony appeared on the original MLP show.

Seaspray
Seaspray was an European Seapony and G3 Earth Pony and Seaspray has been in many incarnations including G1,  Transformers Animated, Transformers Prime and a hovercraft in the live-action movie series.

Zigzag
Zigzag is a G1 Decepticon that becomes a gun, no version of this character or mold was released in Japan. Zig Zag was a G1 Zebra Pony Friend. Neither did not appeared on any of their respective shows.

DJ
DJ was a maximal from Beast Wars 2 Anime in Japan. DJ was a background unicorn in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that the fans gave a name to and soon will get a toy.

WindSweeper
Decepticon Triggercon of G1, appeared in the US and UK comics with a toy in 1988. Windsweeper is part of the Dream Beauties of 1989-1990. Both appeared after the cartoon series.

NightGlider
NightGlider is a G1 'Twice as Fancy' Pony and NightGlider is a Maximal from beast Wars who was only a toy (Transmetal 2).

Sunbeam
A G1 Targetmaster and a G1 1983 unicorn, both did not appear in cartoons.

Cosmos
From the G1 cartoon and special monthly ponies in G1.

Star Catcher
G3 Pegasus (two different distinct versions) and part of Astrotrain from G1.

Male Characters in Girl Franchises

I will cover female characters in boy franchises next, but it happens much more often than in girl franchises. Most are rare and no longer common practice.
My Little Pony
Rarely known as there is currently no male My Little Pony toys (even though they have appeared in the new show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Back in the day in the late 80's, there was the Big Brother ponies. They appeared in the original cartoon series. There was 6 and later 3 more, each had a hat and most had a theme of a sport (Football, Baseball) or job (Firefighter, Sailor) or token male role like a Native American, Cowboy or Pirate.

In the UK, there was the Mountain Ponies, they never appeared in shows but some do have fan followings.

Baby Brother Ponies There was quite a few baby brother ponies, some came with family of ponies, mom, dad and son.

She-Ra Princess of Power
The late 80's series, spin-off He-Man had mostly women and the only male human hero was Bow. Bow would often get in trouble or be in danger. Bow has been made fun of for his abs. She-Ra did have a boyfriend by the name of Seahawk, but he appeared rarely and had no toy.

Skydancers
In the mid-90's, Galoob started the Skydancers. Galoob released a similar toyline aimed at boys called Dragon Flyz. An Animated series came out in 1996...

There was quite a few male Skydancers including Slam and Breeze. Breeze was Native-American.

Strawberry Shortcake
Huckleberry Pie was, for the most part, the sole boy character in a female-dominated franchise, a condition that prevails even into the 2003 reintroduction of the show. In 2003,nation,  Huckleberry Pie remained the token male of the line, although his character has been updated, and distanced from literary allusion. His wild abode features a skate plank full of ramps and secret entrances, a testament to him being a skateboarder.

The obvious inspiration for his character was Mark Twain's literary creation Huckleberry Finn. Huck bore more than a passing resemblance to the more famous Huck Finn, from his straw hat and overalls to his tendencies towards fishing and general laziness.

Of the Strawberry Shortcake's original 1980s friends, Plum Puddin' was the bespectacled genius of the group. A surprisingly non-token second male character in Strawberry's early adventures, Plum Puddin' vanished from Strawberryland in 1982, only to return to the series in 1984 as a brainy female. Strawberry Shortcake seemed not to notice. In every other incarnation, Plum Puddin' has been female.

Rainbow Brite
Other than Buddy Blue and Red Butler, there was Krys who was introduced in Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer and appeared in one or two subsequent episodes. Buddy Blue and Red Butler who part of the Color Kids and they barely got any character focus in the episodes of the series. Brian, a boy who could see Rainbow Brite, got more focus. Neither Brian nor Krys had dolls.

Winx Club
In the Italian 2004 series, the Winx girls each had a male counterpart in the Specialists. They were co-heroes and boyfriend potentials. It should be noted that throughout the series, the boys often need the girls' help. However, they can manage on their own at times.

Monster High
In the current toyline and animated web series, most of the males are boyfriend potentials like Deuce Gorgon (who rarely speaks) is Cleo's boyfriend and there is Holt Hyde/Jackson Jekyll and Heath Burns.

Heath Burns was not originally a doll but a character created exclusively for the animated web series and soon will be a doll.

My Little Pony first Allicorn?!

I have been hoping and praying for an Alicorn in My Little Pony. In the history of My Little Pony, there has only be 'Earth Ponies,' 'Pegasus' and 'Unicorns.' And that was it. Never anything else. Not even a Pegasus with a horn or a Unicorn with wings, which some call Alicorn. For 28 years of the franchise (1982), there has never been an Alicorn (except for a mistake Sunbow did to Baby Surprise for the 80's cartoon--she was a Pegasus and they accidentally put a horn). So to my surprise, there is one in the McDonalds Happy Meal, her name is princess Celestia.

A Princess Celestia toy, the prototype of which appeared in a business magazine in June of 2010, was released in December 2010. She also came in the package above with other little ponies.

It seems she is pretty much, a big deal as she is a 'princess' and has a crown.

Above she is white in a cartoon. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a Canadian/American Flash animated series, which is currently airing on The Hub effective October 10, 2010

There also seems to be NightMare Moon, another alicorn, an evil one, I don't know if a toy came out yet.

This is her true form, Princess Luna.
