4400 Season 4 Near-End Review

There is two more episodes to go and the finale of the USA Network Sci-Fi series is on September 16. When it used to be called 'X-Men'-lite, it has now kicked up into extreme mode. This season has been quick moving and more jumbled than the entire series of "Lost." It is a bit more clear cut but there has been lots of changing. Let me tell you, I am enjoying this season. It has drawn from its mythology and built up. Giving a name to the people that wanted 4400 dead and who sent Isabelle, what Matthew Ross was--one of the Marked. Now, Tom that has been turned into a 'marked' and working both sides. But there is many sides. Kyle has also become a major player, becoming Jordan Collier's second-in-command. Also, Isabelle who has been trying to find her place in world, now is being forced to go back to her 'destiny.'

Now that the Promicin was rampant, many 'normal' people want to take it to gain abilities. Lots of stable characters now have abilities and more and more abilities have turned in. From simple to mimicking voices, to strange as making movies about revealed conspiracies and ridiculous to being a 'therapist' and creating a rock in its place--supposedly, the stress that was held up. So yeah, the show has gotten confusing in the respect of trying to track down who is who and who is in cahoots with who. And who to invest in. Especially, the main character of Tom Baldwin, who has been restless to save his son Kyle and now is one of the 'Marked' and sort of abandoned us. As for Kyle, he is now sure of Collier and believes in a list that his father of, that must take promicin. Collier has definitely become what we knew he was going to be and has stayed 'peaceful' but a brain tickler. Who I think they should get rid of is Shawn, he has burned his usefulness, now that the wants to be a senator. It was interesting that he rejuvenated his opponent from a coma, even though Mya had predicted he would turn against the 4400. In turn, Shawn has turn his back on Collier and the real 4400.

Summer Finales Score

May contain spoilers if you did not seen it.

4400 Season Three Finale
Well, without spilling too many beans... a lot of stuff happened but no definite ending ending. The whole thing with Isabel was defiantely resolved and she is a good character. Well not good morally but very interesting and Megan certainly showed she can be evil without being tacky. And so refreshing Diana's decision. Grade: B

Rescue Me Season Three Finale
With an uneven season, more funny than anything and very everywhere, lots of storylines were left up in the air and not resolved. The finale isn't grand at all. Treated as if any other episode. One storyline about the team breaking up is resolved but it leaves an empty feeling. Sure, life isn't wrapped up in a neat bow but you expect things you got started ended with resolutions. In the end, like every finale, everything went up in flames. Grade: C-

Kyle XY Season One Finale
A exciting and smart show from shock! ABC Family, which is usually known for crappy corny TV Movies, actually serves a formiable mystery. Before the ending, it definitely serves an allusion to "The Usual Suspects". And when Kyle is in the car with his 'parents', it is very chilling. When he says goodbye to the Trager family, it is so touching. And Declan's relationship with Kyle is just great, not homoerotic at all. He has a real connection with Amanda, his love interest, almost like they were meant for each other. It was very obvious the truth about Kyle but they have done it in such a great way. Not 'Lost' anyway. The show isn't for dumb dumbs either, I am not saying it was super obvious, they left it ambiousgly. And with the few new pieces we have been served, it can be very clear. I can't wait until the next season, which they are planning 13 episodes, date not set yet. If these first 10 were very entact, then I can't imagine the new ones. Oh.. and Kyle's real name? It ain't Noah.

Grade: A+

4400 is awesomely confusing

Every ep is pretty great, a new surprise every week. Especially with the chilling Isabel around and the newly ressurected Jordan Collier. Thank goodness Jordan didn't appear until the end of the third season. But now the show is getting really confusing. With the 4400 center, NTAC, the Nova group and Isabel with Dennis Ryland, you don't know who the bad guy is. With Dennis Ryland getting out of NTAC, Tom and Diana to help the 4400. But doesn't mean it has been easy street for Tom or Diana. This season, Tom has been impersanted by a 4400 Nova member, his girlfriend helped the Nova group and has been on the run, his son Kyle has been in prison almost all season and he has been told to kill Isabel by those from the future who took the 4400. While Diana, her future-seeing daughter Maya had been plucked from time and taken earlier in time and she suffered her loss and then was injected with promicin and almost killed her. Meanwhile, Shawn has gotten in bed with the recently-adult Isabel, almos tgot married with her and was betrayed by the Nova group. Richard, Isabel's father has had to take care of Shawn and see invunerable Isabel get darker and gotten his own telekenic powers.

I do like where the season has gone. Great stuff with Isabel, really. And they have added plenty of new stories to be continued next year. There is a war is coming but I wonder if this X-Men-lite will live up to what it is building up to.

Unknown Hotties of the Week 8/21

Santiago Douglas
This Puerto-Rican actor recently in the Exit movie as a crossdresser and his breakout film was Michelle Rodriguez's love interest in Girlfight. He took a break from acting to concerntrate on his music.

Tyler Hynes
Actor who 'has been a devote Scientologist all his life.' What? When since he was diapers or something? He's only 20 for god's sake. Anyway, you might seen him as Atreyu in the super weak The Neverending Story Hallmark channel mini-series, as the baby's daddy in Lifetime's Mother at 16 and the Disney Channel's The Other Me with Andy Lawrence.

He is one of the most recent child actors.

Reynaldo Rosales
Who sometimes has to credit himself as Reynaldo Christian, he has been on 4400, The Closer, Numb3rs, Charmed and Smallville. He was on the short-lived series Inconceivable and an Excedrin headache commercial a few years back.

He is Latino but I know of no origin. They usually cast him in non-Latino roles. He is has a very Hispanic name.

Brannan Elliot
He is the hottie Ben that tempted Diana to sleep with her sister's boyfriend in the 4400.

Can't Escape Megalyn

You know you have seen this woman before. Maybe you can't pinpoint... On That 70's Show or maybe 24? I first saw her on Spyder Games (2001), MTV's failed soap which died quickly after 911. Soon she was seen again the first seen of 24 as President Palmer's daughter Nicole. She then kept popping everywhere from a wiccan college group leader in season 7 of Buffy to daughter of the principal on Boston Public. She then did a stint as Hyde's black half-sister on That 70's Show. Now she is on 4400, causing my eyes to roll.

They use her way too much! Now here she is to funk up my favorite show X-men lite: 4400. Not only did the resident freaky baby Isabel became a teenager in a tired Sci-fi plot twist, it had to be her! Well, atleast it has an explaination: she sucked the youth out of her mother, making her the age she should have been. Her mom became pregnant when she was kidnapped by future people so maybe she herself became the she should be now. Eh, whatever she funked up That 70's Show cast chemistry and she might do the same with her grade school acting.
