Rescue Me: Tommy's Ego takes blows

The June 27th episode
Season 4, Episode 3
"Commitment"

Tommy Gavin can be a real asshole sometimes so its funny to see him brought down a couple pegs. The 'probie', Mike, has always reach out to him because he looked up to him. And especially now that his mom is dying. After begging and begging, and through Tommy's avoiding of Nona (Jennifer Esposito), he goes out with Mike for dinner. Nona is the woman who helped tommy out of the fire from last season's finale. Mike was known for being bi-curious but is now celibate, Tommy acts weird around him. When comforting Mike, he notices the restaurant he took him to was full of male couples. Mike called it 'mandates,' where straight men come to talk about something other than sports, thats why not TV sets are in the restaurant.

While Tommy freaks out, a gay man winks at Tommy and the man's boyfriend comes to Tommy angry. It was a pretty funny scene Luckily Nona walks in and Tommy and Mike clench to her. Nona mentions that there are a lot of 'homos' there. Where I don't necessarily approve of them saying 'homos,' it is pretty common in the show. Mike was going to follow Tommy and Nona but Tommy rebuffs him. When Nona takes Tommy home, she tries to make the moves on him and he backs away. She thinks he has a pride problem because she took him out of the fire but in reality, it is about his performance level. He was told by Sheila (the crazy bitch who raped him and caused the fire) that he couldn't perform sexually, so he wants to take it slow. Nona is convinced he is gay and call him 'princess' and 'sweetness.' While it was mean and homophobic, it was a funny scene. Tommy then gets beat up by his daughter's boyfriend.

Rescue Me Season Four Premiere Review

In the Season Four Premiere of FX's "Rescue Me"...

Our favorite sport-loving, homophobic (yet the show isn't) and prank-pulling brotherhood of fire fighters have gone sentimental. Tommy Gavin (Dennis Leary) listens to Joyce B. and constant worrying about his drug-experimenting and vomiting drunk daughter and his equally vomit-spilling newborn son. Kenny can't deal with his sex-crazed girlfriend who happened to be a nun, Sean's new wife (Tommy's sister) is porn-crazed and Franco's girl-chasing days may be over with his girlfriend who happens to have a horny obscenity-spewing brother. Everyone is saying how the show is red hot, I have always liked the show but I feel this episode is pretty much same of the same. I wouldn't have it any other way, because when watching it, it really does feel like a family and that's alright with me. I just wish Sheila disappears.

I like Rescue Me and Grey's Anatomy

It is no secret I am obessed with Television. I even work in television. But I don't consider myself the usual television viewer. Rescue Me has been getting alot of flack for Tommy forcing himself on his wife a few weeks ago. Dennis Leary and Andrea Roth have been doing damage control. As for me, you may have noticed I didn't even mention it. Dennis on TV Guide said that Rescue Me is no Grey's Anatomy, that you want a sugary donut and then go watch that. I watch both shows and love both shows but I guess I am unique. Dennis also went on to say that people who regularly watch the show don't consider the episode 'the rape episode.' I know I didn't. Sure it shocked me but it was real and it is something that really does happen. Now, I don't watch Rescue Me because it is shocking, I watch it because it's good. It is about the characters and some episodes in the first season melt into each other and not neccessarily plot-driven. People might not even say mierda about the next rape scene.

Well if you ever have a question, these are shows I watch:

Rescue Me
Lost
Nip/Tuck
Desperate Housewives
Grey's Anatomy
Reno 911
South Park
My Name is Earl
Scrubs
Kyle XY

There's much more but I don't remember right now.

Uncover the Unknown/Rescue Me Roomie

For weeks and weeks on Rescue Me I was trying to figure out who played Mike's roommate he was having casual blowjobs with. I checked the credits and stuff and finally found out he is. The character doesn't have a name yet! The reason I named this post 'Uncovering the Unknown' because I always do 'Unknowns of the Week' when I cover basically unknown handsome talent and I am usually good at finding the names of these people. But I have had trouble on this one.

His name is Timothy Adams. In the 7/11 episode, it was revealed he has a boyfriend on the side. So he really is indeed gay even though he says he isn't. It gets confusing because Mike says he isn't gay and the producer says he isn't. And a phone conversation between the roommate and Mike made it sound like he cares about Mike. So he must want Mike to believe he isn't gay but he really is but the confusing part is that he makes it sound like his feelings matter.

He's 38, he was in the show Ocean Ave and side roles in the movies Bad Boys 2, Die Hard 3 and the Virgin Suicides. He played Casey Mitchum on NBC's 1997 soap opera Sunset Beach.

He has such a great body that he made the cover of Men's Health, which is a big deal for a model to make the 'cover.'

The DIOS MIO! moment is that he was actually married to DAISY FUENTES from 1991 to 1995! Four years mijo! His nicknames are supposedly 'flex' and 'muscles' according to IMDB.

Rescue Me: Probie's Sexual Orientation Comfirmation

In my last post I was wondering about the Probie's orientation and TV Guide has asked the question to cocreator Peter Tolan. He said, "Probie is a character who has been searching for love---in many cases, in the wrong places. What he finds is not love but compaionship and sexual release. But he's a confused guy, and I don't think he he's gay." The article goes on to say that the show has an 'unhealthy fixation with homsexuality' and they wanted to bug the hell out of Michael Lombrardi, the actor. Tolan continues with "But once we committed to it, we thought 'We've got to protect our character and do right him, so let's really make this plausible." Now this is where my own words come in... If they are now being true to the character, why leave it as a teaser and just lay it out in the open. Now, if the cocreator believes Mike isn't gay, then this may not end well. Or he can just be bisexual but Tolan doesn't want to label him, so might as well be.

Rescue Me: Probie is finally gay

For the past three years the gang over at Rescue Me have been wondering about the 'new guy' probie Mike Silleti's (Mike Lombardi) sexual orientation. The first storyline he was served up was that a guy Andrew (Jimmy Burke) he saved kept following him and got him into a threeway with his girlfriend. Later after the guy broke up with his girlfriend and Mike needed a place to stay, he made a move on Mike. Let's just say Mike didn't respond well. Mike's first romantic entanglement was with an older woman and when her hot daughter came to stay, she used Mike. Let's say Mike hasn't had luck with the ladies.

First the older woman, then a plus-sized woman Thresea (Ashlie Atkinson) and that doesn't go well. Now in the recent episode, Torture, aired June 13th, Mike cuddles up with his constuction worker roomie at the end of the episode. They don't go out and say it but in the epsiode, Mike talks about finally letting himself being who he is. But with so much teasing throughout the show about his sexuality, you feel its all been done. But perhaps, the producers are showing how all the relationships he tried out before were his personal jounrey to finally find out who he really is. The show has been pretty good with gay issues, even though the main characters are complete homophobes, the show has been very neutral. The second episode of the whole series was titled 'Gay.'

Sure Mike is hot but his character has become more and more softer and still a pushover by the whole crew. The fat chick storyline was great because it showed him more like a man, dealing with his woman and showing her that he wasn't self-conscious about her and didn't want to hide her. I just want him happy, that's all. And this guy seems great (who I can't remember his name or find out who plays him). And where Andrew failed was he way too pushy and crazy. Mike needs a stable guy.

Alzheimer's follows Kate Burton

Kate Burton is an actress who plays Ellis Grey, Meredith Grey's mother who has Alzheimer's on Grey's Anatomy and recently she played Rose on Rescue Me who is helping the Chief Jerry Reilly (Jack McGee) who has a wife on Alzheimer's. I think the Rescue Me role came first, but not only does Alzheimer's follow Kate, affairs with chiefs do too. It seems Ellis had an affair with the hospital chief Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), divorcing with Meredith's father. While it seems the other show is alluding to an relationship between Rose and Jerry (who also has a gay son).

Rescue Me's Daniel Sunjata

Talking about "Rescue Me," Daniel Sunjata is one of the hotties on it. He also was a foresnic/coroner guy in Law & Order: Special Victims Order. He plays a lovable prick on Rescue Me but he actually does alot of theater and has a sense of humor.
