"La Barbie" the living Ken Doll Kingpin?

Edgar Valdez-Villareal is a wealthy businessman from Laredo, Texas, who has hit the big time, raking in millions of dollars. He was a high school football standout. Valdez's nickname, La Barbie, came from his American football coach at United High School; due to his light skin, green eyes, and facial features, he was compared to a Ken doll. At the time of his arrest there was a $2.4 million reward offered by the Mexican government for information leading to his arrest, and a $2 million reward offered by the U.S. for information leading to his capture. He was indicted in the U.S. in June of 2010 for cocaine trafficking, and was indicted by the federal government of Mexico in 2002 for conspiring to distribute marijuana.

 So why bring this up? Because I found it funny that his coach didn't call him Ken but La Barbie, because of his ignorance. It's just funny. And he is chubbier now, doesn't look like a Ken doll anymore.

Betty White is The Last Golden Girl Standing

Dlisted reported that Betty White wanted to be the last Golden Girl standing, as Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty had already passed away last year and two years ago, respectively. Rue McClanahan suffered a stroke earlier this year and Betty White sent her a touching card that read: "Dear Rue, I hope you will hurry up and die so that I can be the last Golden Girl left." McClanahan died today on June 3, 2010 after suffering a massive stroke at age 76.

Obama and ABC News interupts The View about same subject

As Elizabeh Hassleback was talking about the Times Square Pakistani bomber, ABC News interrupted with live feed of Obama informing us about him. The View actually provided more information, maybe rumors. The View also poked holes into the Airport security that didn't notice the man (Faisal Shahzad) paid cash for his airplane ticket. Obama applauded the citizens and law enforcement. Diana Sawyer then interrupts him as he continued for his non-televised speech and reiterates what he said. . ABC News did provide more information about the attack. The whole ABC News special report lasted about 7 minutes.

Rick Sanchez is such a blow hard

Rick Sanchez says he doesn't expect a volcano in Iceland, saying it is too cold. He clearly has not made no research. He even said he thinks of Hawaii, but wasn't he a month ago thought that the Galapagos Islands was Hawaii back when there was an Earthquake in Chili. I hated him when he was in Miami on Channel 7 and now the rest of the United States has to put up with him.

Will Get What's Coming to him

Anthony Defalle, 20 (above), found Raymond Barkey, 59, dead in his Dania Beach apartment and instead of notifying authorities, he and two others walk around the corpse to steal his truck, guns and other property. He has been caught but the other two and the truck have yet to be retrieved. He is definitely getting what is coming to him, because he is a looker and you know what happens in jail.

Snow in Florida after 33 years!

Another death related to Club Space

Paula Sladewski, a model from Michigan, was found last Sunday night dumped into a dumpster and set on fire in the 1400 block of Northeast 130th Street in Miami, Florida. her live-in boyfriend Kevin Klym told North Miami Police the last time he saw Sladewski was at a Downtown Miami night club called Space (Club Space), at around 7 a.m. when he got kicked out after having an argument with Sladewski. Klym is a person of interest, not a suspect. But they did find video of Sladewski leaving with a tall man suspect.

Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba, an 18-year-old FIU student was found dead in the car of Juan Carlos Portieles, DJ Seasunz, who worked at Club Space. This happen in October. Seasunz walked into a police station Sunday night, led the police to a body in his car and turned himself in to authorities for the murder. According to reports, Seasunz and Jaclyn’s argument turned violent when he began ”to beat and bite [Torrealba] repeatedly and she fought back.” Seasunz then choked her ”until she stopped moving.” Now I got to get personal, I actually new him. He was my boss, sort of. I was a DJ at FIUs Radio station WRGP and he work there as a program director. I remember him having a problem with my name, saying it wrong, he chalked it up to my name being uncommon, he said his name was uncommon too.

I said I knew many people named Juan Carlos. He was kinda weird, he acted too cool for school and was prone to getting angry. He had a goatee, facial hair and big hair. He did help me sometimes though. I remember he had a job at a roller-skating place called Thunder Wheels (now closed) as a dj. My nieces birthday was there once and I saw him. I cant believe I know someone that would do this. My friends that work at the radio station now told me the killer worked there and I couldn't believe it, but I didn't catch his name. Anyhoo, the point of this post was to say about two murders related to Club Space. I went there and didnt like it, it was too crowded. My nephew used to go there.

News Media Scaring Parents

This morning, a teenage student was stabbed at Coral Gables Senior High School and died, the stabber was in custody, still considered a suspect. Identities have not been released as of yet. It is an ongoing investigation. But, what bothers me is the usual media saturation. WPLG 10, who I respected, interviewed an underage student on his cell phone---and I believe they got no permission from the school or his parents. And they were talking to a woman on the phone WHILE she was driving. Isn't that illegal? These people are irresponsible. Also, these 'reporters' act surprised when the parents panicked and went to the school and often said they were nervous. YOU MADE THEM NERVOUS with all your breaking news. When the police and superintendent clearly said not to go and pick up the kids because the school was on lock down.

Daily Show: Fox News is Liberal

Fox News are so evil, they are hypocrites. According to their own rules on what a Liberal is---they are the media, that they are against the president during war time and that they complain all the time. Well, Jon Stewart has brought to our intention that Fox News has done all those things and according to them, they are #1 media. They are such blowhards. Saying 'liberals' or the left wings are pushing their agenda. Fox News is all about their agenda. Bill O' Reilly says he doesn't call protesters as loons and in 2004, he said it himself. And then their counter-argument to Jon Stewart all the time is that anyone can point things out if they do 24 hour news network. Um, if you are television reporters, you better stand by what you are saying. Don't come off all high and mighty. And yes, I'm just a blogger. Thank you for stating the obvious. The Shoe is on the other foot!

Mother who set herself on fire at mall died

Cecilia Casals, 42 years old, died yesterday at Jackson Memorial Hospital, five days after setting herself on fire at the Mall of the Americas (formerly the Midway Mall), according to the Miami Herald. According to court records and her husband, she had a history of mental illness and had been convicted of trafficking prescription drugs (2008). Her daughter works at Savage Boutique, where Casals set herself on fire. NewTimes Blog says twitters at the scene said it happened at Ross. Casals made it out of the mall and into the parking lot, according to witnesses. Several concerned people tried to put out the flames and were burned in the process. Court records also show that Casals had legal woes and she was also accused of attempting to kill her ex-boyfriend in 2004. She was still on probation on drug trafficking charges.

My heart goes out to her family, it is a devastating thing and I hope no others have to go through it in any side or way. I am familiar with mental illness in my own family as a family member committed suicide six years ago. Coincidentally and not related to the suicide, this family member also played Santa Claus at that same very mall (when it was called Midway Mall) over twenty years ago. I share this in hopes not to be labeled as another 'loser blogger' talking about stuff he doesn't understand, neither do I want a pat on the back, who would want one in this situation?

Alberto Cutié on no English-Speaking News Channel except for CNN

My mom called my dad and said Father Alberto Cutié, the priest who had an affair with a woman and not a little boy, was having an apology news confrence on TV. She claimed that all the English-speaking channels were broadcasting it, not only the Spanish ones that have been running crazy with them. So, my dad had me check the channels and no local English-speaking channel had it, only Telemundo, Universal, Telefutura, and CNN. CNN? Well, because Ricky Sanchez was reporting it! Sanchez was even translating it! So my dad was not surprised, that only the Spanish-speaking channels or channels with a Cuban cared about this.

Religious School teacher sexually active with 15 year-old Student

The latest news on the religious school teacher, Maria Guzman Hernandez (32 years old) who had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student in Hialeah, Florida is that she is out of jail on bond. If convicted on her charges, she could face up to 30 years behind bars. Hernandez has two children and was estranged from her husband. On the TV news but not on article, it says he is an 8th grader. No one has mentioned the fact that he is a 15 year-old in Middle School. Wouldn't that rings some bells too? Instead of a blurred picture, we get video of the boy but no face of course. I did not know how old he was when I saw it on the news but his body looked way too old to be a 13 year-old, which is the oldest age you can be in middle school without flunking. Well, news is that the boy's mother is from Cuba, so maybe he is from Cuba too, explaining his age. That he is behind because maybe he just arrived to this country. According to police reports, a detective on the case wrote, "The victim stated he and the defendant have been sexually active since March and that Hernandez confessed." DCF officials are also working to make sure the victim and his mother get counseling.
