Well, the biggest news in Basketball is Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and the other guy staying/joining Miami Heat and now being branded as the 'Dream Team.' So Miami won't shut up about it. My dad is excited. It's all over the local news. It all started with the fear that Dwayne Wade was going to leave the Miami Heat and everyone wanted him to stay. Even the Mascot Bernie camped outside of the America Airlines Arena (Triple A) to make Wade stay. And then his friend joined and last night was the big announcement from Lebron James. On the Daily Show, Julianne Moore and John Stewart expressed they wanted Lebron for New York. John even made a joke about Lebron's announcement, saying he might say he's on Team Jacob or is a woman. In the end, Lebron chose the Heat, mainly because he's friend Dwayne is on the team. Now all Miamians are expecting Heat to go to the top now and are unstoppable.Explaining the title: I am forty-something Latino who has a fondness for the Japanese culture and speak Spanglish--Spanish and English. Some people say "Span-English" so I mixed it with "Engrish," which is how some Japanese pronounce English.

Jason Kapono is now a Raptor and to help the Dream Team
Jason Kapono, who I have been following the past year in Miami Heat, is now signed to the Toronto Raptors. In the ESPN article, it is funny that the manager says, "Jason is an ideal fit for our system and for our locker room." I wonder what that means. I can't help but to think wicked things. I wish him the best of luck. I am gonna miss him in the Heat. He has also been selected for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is not the dream team but USA Basketball Men’s Select Team that has been chosen to help prepare the 2007 USA Senior National TeamTuesday, March 13
No more Kapono this season?!
I've been meaning to post this, I probably forget because it is so sad. Adding to Dwyane Wade's shoulder injury, the Miami Heat are down another player---my fav, Jason kapono. He got a high left ankle sprain during the Heat's 88 to 81 victory against Atlanta eariler this month. To my sadness, he will miss an "indefinite" number of games, my dad says he might miss the whole season. :(I hope he gets better!

Calle Ocho and the Heat
The Miami Heat won tonight (woo-hoo!) and today was also Calle Ocho, a big festival they have on Southwest Eight Street and around it, there is an area called 'Little Havana' which is made up of mostly Cubans. Check a little bit more about it on the wikipedia page.Sunday, February 18
Jason Kapono Unknown Hottie Update
Everyone likes talking about Kobe/Wade duel in tonight's All-Star Saturday (basketball showcase of the best players), but an upcoming Miami Heat player James Kapono who has kind of been overshadowed won his category--the Three-Point Shootout. Kapono, has been pro for four years, "tied Mark Price's final-round record and "ell just one point shy of Craig Hodges' overall mark with an impressive performance leading off the last round." - Fox Sports I wish the best for him.

The Heat Won
As a proud Miami-ian (I want to get out of this city!) I am happy to say that the Miami Heat won the playoffs. Shaq ofcourse mumbling at the press confrence as always. I had a feeling today there would be a seventh game but I was wrong. Yeah, I said it. There was only six. I like basketball out of all sports. I'm not crazy about sports to begin with. They are okay but just not my thing. Bye Dirk. I rather have Manu anyday.
