The Beauty of the Male Form Part 3: What is Sexy?

[Joe Griffith, above]

Now I will discuss What is Sexy about Men?, now yes the majority will be what I believe is sexy but also what sexy should be. I do believe Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yes, it is a bit ironic saying that if I have a hot guy blog. But I don't always pick guys that fall into agreed-upon convential beauty. So 'Sexy' is the same. It depends on the person you are attracting. But what I think should be an agreed-upon 'Sexy' is more about attitude. Indeed, woman have a more open ideal about sexiness in men, while the stereotype is that the majority of men have a narrow view of what is sexy in women. Actually, most men actually do like plus-size women and also like tomboy girl, many men find a woman in men's clothing enticing, well not all the time, mostly in the bedroom but it is something. Most specifically their own clothing that might be bigger on the woman.

[Daniel Gillies, above]

Sexiness do come in attitude. Even if a guy is handsome, I don't like a guy when he is stuck up or thinks he is 'all that' or a complete jack hole. I like humble guys, those 'ah shucks' guys. While the are hard to find, like needles in haystacks... Lots of women and gay men say confidence is key. And from personal experience, confidence does make a large effective difference. Confidence vs. Cockiness. Cockiness not great, it's annoying and off-putting. Confidence is just assurance, self-reliance in one's self. I do like guys that are introverted but not too much. So like with anything else, excessiveness is not good. Some people don't even like men that are 'too beautiful' or more beautiful than they are.

[Novak Djokovic, above]

Now, I have had my crushes that have come and gone. For Example, I had a thing for Andy Roddick (before I started this blog) but now I find him to be a boring douche. I had a thing for Justin Timberlake, found everything he did sexy and cute, but he also got bland and tired. He stopped updating his look, which I like and he is now fond of facial hair and I don't like too much facial hair. I am okay with some hair but not the scruffiness. I don't like when handsome guys get scruffy to hide their hottness. How annoying is that?

[Julian Mcmahon, above)

Fathers are also sexy. Fatherhood means responsibility, empathy and caring. Nothing isn't more sexy than a young handsome father playing with their kids or with a stroller. And it's happening more often these days. It is heart-warming to see how many young fathers are stepping up and being a true man by taking care of their children and being there for them.

The Beauty of the Male Form Part 2

Okay, I said I was going to cover clothes on men, so here I go.

[Above, Gaspard Ulliel]
I am not that crazy about really skinny guys but I do appreciate how a decent jean looks on a tall skinny man. Also, love leather shoes. I'm a foot guy, I got to admit. I am crazy about feet but mostly with the shoes on. No, I don't want shoes stepping on me, no I don't like doing anything physical with the shoes. I just like looking at them.

[Above, Milo Ventimigla]
I love the whole look. The stance is very sexy. And those shoes, I am melting. I don't know how to explain this, this is almost uncharted waters. It has been discussed on the internet about male feet and male shoes, there are plenty videos on YouTube but there is not much discussion in psychology which I would love to read.

[Above, Adrian Armas]
Sneakers and shoes like those are foxxy with business pants, I love this whole outfit, the layers. Leather jackets look hot when they are shorter.

[Above, Penn Badgley]
Can't help but to love this whole picture and the outfit and the stance and the shoes. I can't say anything else.

[Above, Cillian Murphy]
Again, sexy boots, skinny jean pants, etc.

[Above, Dean Sheremet]
I love when shirts can be seen under other shirts, especially the biceps. Such form fitting. Do I even have to say that I look seeing nipples sticking out of shirts?

[Above, Oded Fehr]
There is a stereotype that women can't resist a man in uniform, but I believe it depends on the man. I mean it can true, for both women and men attracted to men. But army fatigues are real hot, especially the boots. The whole look is so very attractive.

[Above, Greg Plitt]
Ditto, they look like GI Joe dolls come to life.

[Above, Nicholas Lemons]
This fashion photo is great because it shows an uncommon thing, most men are full of motocross gear and sometimes it looks sexy but sometimes it looks too clunky, but in this picture, we have the strong but somewhat fragile tender male body with the hard, sexy and sleek armor.

Don't get me started with kilts! How striking!

[Above Right, Tom Zbikowski ]
Seeing the brief line, much like the panty line in women, in pants is really scrumptious.

[Above, Robertas Javtokas]
Talking about uniforms, I love baseball uniforms but most baseball players don't have the figure to pull it off. I love basketball outfits the most because of the amount of skin that is shown.

[Above, Jimmy Clausen]
Football uniforms are awesome, I think the most alluring. The college football uniforms are most hot because you can see the calves.

[Above, Kevin Zegers]
Above you can see the vulnerability and the cuteness, the nimbleness that can has a lot of potential.

The Beauty of the Male Form Part 1

[Shibue Joji above]
Now, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and just rating anyone in their underwear is shallow but I don't want to focus on that. Many men (regardless sexual orientation) do not want to concentrate on a man's beauty, they believe that exclusively is reserved for a woman. 'bishōnen,' the concept of beauty in men, is most popular in Japan and refers to males with distinctly feminine features typically exhibited in their pop culture idols. But what I am talking about when talking about the beauty of the male form is nothing to do with feminine features but the male body can also exhibit its forms of beauty. Most women and gay men would agree with me.

Now my blog Caramelitos Varoniles has been touted by a select few from being distinctly different from other 'hot guy' blogs because it displays not only 'beefy guys' in underwear but other forms of handsomeness such as Michael Arden, Jeremy Davies, Brendan Sexton, and Kevin Rankin (above). Whereas this blog has been called grammatically incorrect. I take both as compliments. First up, I will be discussing anatomy.

[Cristiano Ronaldo above]
Many people have asked me what is the first thing I notice in a man. I don't know how to answer them. Because it depends. Sometimes it is their eyes, something its their butt. But one my favorite features in my man's anatomy is their thighs.

[Steve Sandvoss above]
What drives me crazy is those handles below the underwear line. Of course the 'treasure trail,' the bit of hair trailing under the belly button.

[Steven Strait above]
What also drives me crazy is the pecs. When they pop out like that. I also covered nipples on this blog.

[Sebastian Rulli above]
A little hair on the chest is not bad. I am not crazy about too much hair. I like a little bit of facial hair but not beards or scruffiness, I hate when stubble rubs on my skin. I love hair on forearms, and some select places but that's about it. I absolutely must mention that I don't like when guys shave their nether regions. Also, veins are awesome on the forearms and hands. I don't know if a lot of other people are digging that, I have never heard of it discussed.

[Tyler Batchel above)]
I like this photo because it is a contrast between a purse, usually a female staple and a naked man. Let me talk about body type, anorexia in men is a real thing and I am not crazy about really skinny guys. there is a difference between men I think are attractive and men I will date, but I wouldn't be attracted or dating a super skinny guy or super beefy muscular guy. I do like beefy guys but I guess what I am saying is not exaggerated.

[Jamie Jewitt above]
With strength and power, which are agree-upon staples expected in masculinity, I believe there is also a vulernableness and tenderness to comes with that strength. Yes, the picture above has a somewhat stereotypical feminine aspect about it, but I think it also illustrates my point.

[Above, Cody James]
He is a good example of a strong yet vulnerable male body. Every naked body looks vulnerable, but certain naked women look strong, independent and powerful. Here the body is smooth and supple and the thighs are big, like I like them. The hair streaming from the thighs are also sexy.

I like the photo collections from Terra's The Boy, they really challenge what we think about in male beauty, pointing male models in different positions, not common when men are posing. It has been going on for about 4 years and of course has gotten lots of attention. Early porn photos and Playgirl shoots look ridiculous because they didn't know what was sexy and avoided poses that are in The Boy.

More to come when more occurs to me. Next up clothes. Just like women, sometimes men are hotter with their clothes on!

Why Photography of Twin Brothers Nude?

[Some pictures removed because of copyright]

I tried hard not to show actual full-frontal nudity. I noticed something through the years about modeling (which my close friend calls models 'clothes hangers')... photography of twin brothers in compromising positions. The picture above and the picture below are of Kyle and Lane Carlson. They were introduced as the "hottest gay icons" on VH1's Totally Gay.

The twins stated on their web site that they are not gay and "If you find gay pictures of the twins on the internet, than[sic] you found faked images of the Carlson Twins". This is a link to their official website.

But I have found plenty of pictures of other brothers in 'homosexual' positions in both porn and regular photography. I searched but couldn't find a lot of pictures of female twins. My theory is that because the majority of photographers are male and which goes hand in hand with my theory of why pornography towards males (whichever the sexuality) are more popular.

What could be the fascination over twin brothers kissing? Could it be two of the same that turns some people on? On an artistic stand point, I can say it is beautiful. Not just because I am a gay man, but I am not disgusted by it. I just found it curious. I looked up as much as I could and not much articles have mentioned it.

This is actors Harry and Luke Treadaway kissing in a music video.

Other than twins, two independent movies have been made of male incest, two brothers falling in love. One being Harry + Max, that I covered in this review and the other being a short film called Starcrossed starring JB Ghuman Jr. and Marshall Allman.

Actor/Models Flavio and Gustavo Mendonça

Jed and Jay Johnson, twins who Andy Warhol met in the late 60's. His friend Paul met Jed as a messenger and found out he arrived from Sacramento to New York with his brother. Paul hired Jed to help get a place they had in shape. Jed later became Andy's boyfriend. A book on Jed Johnson has been published by Rizzoli called Jed Johnson: Opulent Restraint/Interiors, which covers his career as a decorator/interior designer before his tragic death on TWA Flight 800 on July 17, 1996. Jay now runs his businesses. In addition to being Warhol's boyfriend in the longest lasting relationship that Warhol would have during his life, Jed also designed Warhol's home in New York and worked for other celebrity clients such as Barbra Streisand.

Actorexia: Update to Manorexia

Four months ago, I wrote a post about manorexia, men being effected by Anorexia. Now Entertainment Weekly had an interesting article about 'Actorexia,' when male actors had to loose weight for a role.

Matt Damon most notably lost weight for "Courage Under Fire" in 1996. He lost 40 pounds and he admitted that 'it was too much.. I was a wreck."

Entertainment Weekly says that Quaid stripped down to 138 pounds to play consumptive Old West gunman Doc Holiday in Wyatt Earp in 1994. Last year, he confessed to suffering from 'manorexia' and over-exercising in the mid-'90s. I personally didn't notice.

Tom Hanks lost weight two times, 30 pounds for Philadelphia and 55 pounds for Cast Away. The director halted production so Hanks could whittle his frame.

Christian Bale most famously became a skeleton for not only 1 but 2 roles: The Machinist and Rescue Dawn.

Anorexia also extends to Male Celebrities

Starlets get a lot of criticism because of 'suddenly shrinking woman' act but I have noticed another trend...

David Gallagher ('7th Heaven' and The Picture of Dorian Gray) in 2005, approximately 20 years old. [Pictures thank to DG Resource]

Now him currently at 22.

That is pretty pencil thin.

He wasn't exactly chubby before but there is a difference.

Comedian Christian Finnegan.

One thing is loosing weight, the other is exaggeration that you don't even look alike to who you were.

With men, it is hard to tell with muscle, age, and etc. but British actor/singer Adam Rickett who is now 29 today (May 29) reported that he suffered from Anorexia according to this article from Anorexia Web.

Here are articles from Anred and Ezine Articles. I personally think that American media and society put too much on image and body type that it causes a psychological effect on us that is not the main reason but one of the reasons why most of our population is overweight. We want everything quick but then we get depressed with the constant bombardment of these images. It is damaging and that's why we see these effects, one both sides. I am not here to point fingers and judge but I am just concerned about these young men's self-esteem. That we are fooled into thinking that eating food is bad.

Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was really overweight and underwent Gastric bypass surgery before he dated Nicole Richie.

Here is the 'before' picture that was sort of hard to find. He died in 2009 after a drug overdose.

Then of course, celebrities over thirty use botox and plastic surgery to look skinner and younger: Makemeheal.com (David Beckham, Kevin Costner)

Men's Nipples Sexy?

Real World New Orleans' Danny brings to question 'Should Men show Nipples?' on his website www.dannyandpaul.com. In this day and age that men get equally objectified like women were, it seems we see more and more bigger nipples. Of course, big male nipples have always existed but it seems to be in style now.

[Model Cisoto Fotos refers to as "Todd Mitchell"]

Just like how overweight men don't appear in fashion, now we see more of this. I know about gay men but do women find men's nipples sexy? I think there is some lost potential there. If you don't know, some men get aroused when you touch their nipples. Well there is a big difference between Gynecomastia and hot pecs. I personally find pecs hot. And nipples under a shirt can be misleading, make you think they got large pecs but then turns out to be nothing to go crying to your momma about.

Daniel Mucerino's pecs

The notorious 'McNipples' Chris Lowell.

Now, is this taboo or is simply not attractive? Now, they can't just tell male models, shrink your nipples! What the hell is that? It's a nipple people, get used it. Back to if women find it attractive, Danny quote: Do women find male nipples sexy? "It's usually not where I'm looking," admits Robin Adams, one of the founders of Sweet Action, the "porn for girls" magazine that celebrates un-buff, average cute guys.
