Desperate Housewives Series Finale Review

From the first episode, there is role reversal. First of all, Carlos was the bread winner and Gaby was the ex-model housewife. Gaby cheated on Carlos with the young male gardener. In this episode, Gaby is now the breadwinner with a promotion and Carlos works with the poor and Gaby has been neglecting him like he was in the beginning. So Carlos gets a sexy female Gardner. Lynette was a big businesswoman that became a mommy and housewife in the first season. Now, Lynette gets an offer from Katherine--who has come back from France and no longer a Lesbian--to be a businesswoman in New York. Lynette has returned with Tom and is not sure about going back to work. As for Bree and Susan, they aren't much role reversals. Susan is moving and her daughter is pregnant. The old neighbor Karen is dying and instead of going to a home, the four women offer to take care of her. Karen sticks her nose where it doesn't belong and tries to get Bree back with her Scott Bakula lawyer boyfriend.

 Renee (Vanessa Williams) and Australian bad boy Ben have a wedding and Renee is a total Bridezilla bitch and of course Julia is about to get birth. Julia spills her water on Renne's dress. The episode before the finale, it wraps up the court trail that has the murder plot started last finale. Bree was on trail and Karen came to the rescue and she got off and Carlos was not convicted. Renne is a total bitch, even when she has to walk from the store for a new dress, Ben is a sweetheart to her. Ben invites Scott Bakula to the wedding and Bree asks him why he wants to be with her if she is flawed and it doesn't make sense. They kiss and that seals the deal for their relationship. He calls her human and in the first episode people didn't think she was 'human' and her family thought she was a stepford wife. I guess Susan's change from the first episode is that she was a single mother and now she is a widowed grandmother. Lynette and Tom reconcile and about to go to New York together. So in the end, Julie has one of Lynette's twin's baby, Renne and Ben get married and Karen died.

Susan Delfino introduced herself to Jennifer, the girl moving in. Jennifer is worried about life being boring, Susan tells her it isn't. Susan, her son, daughter and granddaughter take one last spin around the block and we see ghosts of the people that were part of Wisteria Lane. We see people who have passed away. We see the future. Lynette becomes a CEO and her and Tom live in a penthouse in New York. Gaby and Carlos left the next year and Carlos helped her make a website called Gabrille's Closet and she got a show on the HSN and they moved to California. Two years after that, Bree and her new husband move and she became a Kentucky Senator. The end is super creepy with us seeing all the ghosts and I mean ALL the ghosts. The sweetest was Karen with her son who died young. And of course, the narrator was the last we saw.

Desperate Housewives FInal Season Premiere Review

I've watched this show since the beginning, some people have given up on it and some didn't even see it, but I stuck through. This night soap opera is starting to show its age. While other premieres felt like the final season, this feels like a spin-off special. Same tired predictable jokes like Vanessa Williams flirting with the new neighbor (Carlos Mesure) and being shut down. Where we were left last year was that Gaby's abusive step-father attacked her and Carlos killed him and the four women decided to cover it up and bury the man. Now hiding this secret is tearing them apart--Susan barely hangs out with them and is getting guilty; Gaby tries getting Carlos to confess to a priest; Brie plays double-agent with her detective boyfriend Jonathan Cake and Lynette is separated from her husband Tom. Now the logic thing would had been to not bury the man, get Carlos arrested and acquitted for self-defense and 8 years of predicaments like this, you would think the ladies would know better. But, eh, its the last year and they are forgiven.

Desperate Housewives Season 6 Finale Review

It might surprise you that I am reviewing Desperate Housewives after Season 6 and that I am still watching them. But I got to say that after six years, the main four characters are still strong and show what they are best at, even in tense moments. Bree, in facing Sam Page's character, can still make someone hurt, she still good for that final stinger. Lenette, in having given birth and facing a killer, can still bring the heart and the tears, as a mother--to make him do the right thing. Gabrielle, even as superficial she can be, made a promise to a friend and is gonna keep it. In this case, she helps Angie against her ex-husband played by the legendary John Borrowman. And Susan? Well, Susan delivers a teary lament to Mike that she won't see her son MJ grow up in the house her daughter grew up in. John Borrowman does a decent job but his character is just like every other villain in Desperate Housewives, against last year's villain, Dave, Dave was much more charming and creepy. I do love John and want to marry him. Susan made a nice speech about the three friends being a good person. Bree finally confesses to Gabrielle about Andrew running over Carlos' mother.

Two Gay Couples with Surrogates on ABC

Applauds to ABC to have two shows with two different gay couples with surrogates, trying to make a baby, trying to have a baby. One is Lee and Bob on "Desperate Housewives," which became apparent a month ago. The second is Kevin and Scotty of "Brothers & Sisters," who have been with this arc for over the last couple of months. Now, I know the two shows work separately and probably didn't know each other, but it is awfully convenient that both shows air back to back.

Desperate Housewives/Sprint: When Satire Go Wrong

For a while, Sprint has had these special commercials featuring new characters exclusively for the commercials from the Desperate Housewives featuring cheating husbands and neighbors. But tonight when satire went wrong... a cheating husband is with his mistress in bed, the mistress finds out he has no money when he divorces his wife and she decides to kill the wife... through her iPhone!!! OMG, it is horrible. Yes, it is satire. But some crazy people out there... I mean, my mom complains about violence in Simpsons' Halloween episodes and I tell her that violence is common in even cartoons when she was growing up like Tom & Jerry with guns and anvils. Anyhoo, it was inappropriate otherwise.

Desperate Housewives Season Five Finale

It was an interesting season, while last season became a bit stale and probably felt so-so because of the Writers' Strike, this season has been infused with what made the first season so great. But I think the topper was casting Neal McDonough. If you see the first episode and then last episode, they tie in perfectly. I think it is the first season of Desperate Housewives that feels full-circle, very tight. Because even the first season went into its own tangents. It is the type of show that has no other choice but to go into different tangents, as a new plot or arc is introduced and quickly lost when not popular (for example, when Zack fell in love and tried to woo Gabriele). This season had some of that, for example, one of the Twins getting a lady pregnant, even though it lasted quite a few episodes, it wasn't mentioned in the two-part finale. Anyhoo, I digress. Other than the Susan/Mike/Neal McDonough plot, the other plots in the season finale felt like a bridge to the next season. Like Lynette finding out she was pregnant, Gaby having a rival in her house in the form of Carlos' niece and Bree's new affair with Karl.

Man, Karl and Edie were the whores of the series. Edie was with Karl, Mike, Carlos and tried to get with Orson. While, Karl has been with Susan, Edie, a bunch of other women and now Bree. And as for the new kids, let me tell you that the new kids like Susan's son MJ and Gaby's girls are way more interesting than the other children in the past seasons. But am I looking forward to season 6? No, not really. Last season's cliffhanger was way more interesting and hard to top. While this cliffhanger of who Mike will marry... red-head #2 Katherine or Susan again? And what the hell happened to the gay neighbors? And for once can Lynette be centered around the main plot PLEASE! It wasn't a fluke she got an Emmy for the first season, freeze-face Bree has gotten two big plots and Susan has gotten countless, why can't Lynette be in the center of the action? She was in the center of that supermarket shoot-out and for that episode with a child molester, which could have easily been a season arc.

Desperate Housewives Women's age turnarounds

One of the issues of today's episode was about age. Lynette was trying to get a new job, going back to advertising which she had been absent from for about 7 years. She told an employeer she was 57 and he didn't squint. She revealed she really is 52. Swoosie Kurtz, 64 year-old actress who was in the sadly canceled "Pushing Daisies" and in "Sisters," plays Susan's lesbian teacher co-worker that puts the moves on her. It is so refreshing to see a healthy (as much as someone can be on the show) gay person on television that is over 40.

Joanna Cassidy is AWESOME

Joanna Cassidy, age 63, still looks fabulous and has played 3 of my favorite roles ever. She is still magnetic and powerful as ever. Recently she has guested on "Ghost Whisperer" and the first season of "Heroes" as Victoria Pratt. She is just a great actress and hopes keeps getting meaty roles.

I found it weird that she was not on "Desperate Housewives" yet and lo and behold, she is on it now! She plays the mother was Andrew's fiance and a thorn in Bree's side. I guess they were waiting for the right role.

First time I saw her, she played Dolores in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, she gave the movie heart and gravitas. She also got the material, so she was funny without trying.

She played Rose Lindsey in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter, which was a somber bland movie, trying to propel Christina Applegate's "Married with Children" career. Rose played her oblivious boss who believed in her.

And her most famous role ever in Blade Runner as Zhora. A year ago for the 25th anniversary, she got in the costume (which still fit after all that time!--which she loved) to re-shoot the sequence in which Zhora fell through the glass in order to fix a continuity error with the stuntwoman's helmet hair. (She wore a helmet under the wig)

Desperate Housewives Five Years in the future

In the end of season four, there was a fast-forward to five years and the next season will be set so, there are some questions to be answered. Thank god the girl's haircuts were not completely different. Lynette did suffer from year-change cuts and Bree is much more repressed.

Bree - What we saw was that she seems to be an acclaimed cook and book writer and Andrew is her assistant. Her husband was not see but it sounded like Orson.

Gaby - Gaby comes home to two little girls. Adopted? We don't know for sure. No sign of Carlos.

Lynette - She comes to Tom to find out their son Preston is in trouble, not his twin Porter who seems to be the one who gets in trouble the most, being in Juvenile detention.

Susan - Gale Harold plays Ken, Susan's new husband she comes home to. No sign of her two kids.

Katherine - Everything is peachy. No sign of Adam.


The only husband of the housewives we saw was Tom. And definitely the kids who played the kids are out of the work. Look out for new actors next year.

Amas de Casa Desesperadas Review

With the popularity of "Desperate Housewives," it not only has been dubbed in many languages, but in Spanish and also re-done for Spain, Argentina, and now, for some reason for Univision, the American Spanish channel. With a whole new cast and new names, it is completely in Spanish and set in the United States. Instead of Wisteria Lane, they live in Manzanares (Apple?) 'estrit' (Street). The first episode aired last night, it airs at 10pm Thursdays. It doesn't feel like a rerun, even though they follow everything to a tee. The first episode is exactly the same, as if they are stuck in a loop. It is interesting to see a soap opera satire done by telenovela actors. I guess they did this for those stubborn viewers would wouldn't watch any American show, in English or dubbed and will only watch Univision.

Mary Alice, here is called Alicia Arizmendi and played by the famous and legendary actress/singer Lucia Mendez. I used to look up to her as a kid with a song of hers about strawberries and kisses. Unfortunately, I don't think she suited to be the sweet and nice counselor that Mary Alice was. Alicia is exactly the same character but Lucia comes off as fake and bitchy. She looks more like a villain than anything.

The girl who plays her daughter Julie is exactly the same as our Julie, it is like they were made to watch the original.

Mary Alice's husband is ugly and so is Bree's husband. When Rex looked like a Suburban husband, but yet a bit sexy, here the actor is just plain ugly with gray hair and a thick black mustache. As for the breakout hit hunk in the original, the gardener is not much of a hottie. Maybe at the same level as Jesse Metclafe. The plumber, is eh. But the hottest for me is a surprise, it is Bernie Paz, portraying Gabie's husband Carlos Solis.

Desperate Housewives Last New Episode Review

I can see why ABC did not hold off on this episode until after the strike was over, it would have been lackluster if it wasn't for Bree pimping off her son Andrew for a contractor to fix her house. In a hilarious and progressive sequence, Bree tries to hook up the 'great contractor' yet 40-something heartbroken Walter with her son Andrew, Andrew tries flirting with him for the promise of a flat screen television for his apartment, and Susan tried and successfully vier off the May-December romance (because she wanted Bree to stay in her house) by mentioning how young and hot Andrew's ex Justin was. It was also hilarious to hear Bree's husband try to lure Walter by saying Andrew has a great mesh-top.

Desperate Housewives Tornado Episode wasn't that bad

One would expect an episode of "Desperate Housewives" with a tornado that cost about $500,000 to be a ratings stunt and nothing more, but it was pretty good. One screenplaying writing rule is to make a big natural disaster to put a bunch of people together in the same room. Conveniently, all their young loved ones were on vacation or gone. Bree's Danielle is with her grandmother and Andrew living on his own. Lynette's mom is living with her gay ex-husband. Susan's Julie and Katherine's daughter are away on a trip. And, these people are nuts to be fighting in strong winds but they do that same vary thing. To be convenient, Gabie's mayor of a husband gets impaled with a piece of wood. Also, Nathan Fillion's character Adam's annoying mistress introduced in last week's episode gets blown away too. Strange thing the narrator said a husband would be lost and a friend too, but Susan, Edie, Bree, Gabie, Lynette, and Katherineall survive. More later.

Richard Chamberlain on Desperate Housewives

Every time any gay character come across "Desperate Housewives," I got to put my two cents. Even with Marc Cherry being the Executive Producer and gay. Tonight Richard Chamberlain, who is gay and recently played a gay character in Nip/Tuck last year, guested as Lynette's step-father. I knew I soon as I saw him, his secret was him being gay. Sadly, I was right and that was it. It was like it was a big shock. Hello, they now have two gay neighbors and this is the big shock?

Desperate Housewives: WHat are we in the 70s?

When I heard there was going to be a gay couple in "Desperate Housewives," I thought they were going to skip the gay stereotypes and give something different, something that doesn't meet the eye--like with Bree's convening bisexual son. But when Susan met the new neighbors from the city... all the mistaking stereotypes came along. Where's your wife? Oh, partners, are you guys business partners? And then when she found out they were gay, she said that she saw gay people on cable. ::Rolling my eyes::

I know this is the suburbs but honestly. I thought Susan was going to be less ignorant about this. She even contacts a gay uncle, where apparently he didn't know she knew he was gay. In usual Susan fashion, the episode was more about her trying make good with her neighbors. Marc Cherry, the creator of the show, is gay and has gotten scrutiny over the previously mention character of Andrew. Lee, played by Kevin Rahm, definitely is a bitch, as described by the producers. Honestly, wouldn't there just be a bit more progressive?

Where Desperate Housewives is losing its sheen, this will pump it right up for me.

Nathan Fillion ('Firefly'/Serenity, Waitress, 'Two Guys and a Girl") is in talks to be a Wisteria Lane resident. I hope his character is as witty and charming as he is. Lucky "Drive" was canceled but anyone could tell you that. He will play husband to Dana Delany (who is 15 years his senior in real life), Lyndy Fonseca plays the daughter. The point is that Dana's character that has a much younger husband. Nathan as a boy-toy husband? Yummy.

Edie goes off to her own adventures in Los Angeles where she has her own realty firm with sexy employees and competition. She gets to be bitchy with people in California.

"Heaven's Gate"
All those that have passed on such as Mrs. Huber, Rex, Mary Alice, and possible guest stars as the two former Mrs. Hodges and Zach's dead grand father. The plot? They have to go down to Earth as angels or devils to help people.

"Anything But Desperate On Campus"
Andrew Van De Camp, which is described by Wikipedia as 'Bree sociopathic, atheist, bisexual teenage son,' goes to college and becomes the dorm supervisor guy and has to put up with other people's problems and just scoff at their problems while finding love and causing trouble with nobody the wiser.

Desperate Housewives dolls

Yes, the Alexander Company is coming out with dolls of the Desperate Housewives and they all have the same faces and don't look like the actresses at all (probablytget couldn't get the likeness licenses). But you got to be kidding?! It is 129.95 each???!!!

Desperate Housewives hunk Mark Deklin

In last sunday's episode of Desperate Housewives, Gabrielle attached her claws on one of her pageant charges' widowed father Bill Pearce played by Mark Deklin.

Oh my god look at those delicious pearly whites.

He has been Dr. Matthew Shaw on FOX's Justice. He has been on both CSI: NY and CSI: Miami. He was Ship Officer Matt Cook in the 'Anchors Away' ep of Sex and the City.

He has of course started on the soap The Guiding Light and will be Major Gerald Ingram in Call of Duty 3.
