Brave Miami Dolphin in Ace Venture: Pet Detective

Ace Venture: Pet Detective (1994) has always been a great comedy to me as it had the Miami Dolphins in it and most of it was filmed in Miami. I am of course from Miami. It also is one of the first movies I heard of the use of Transgenders. But the thing is that Transgenders are shown in a negative light. The villain is one. Anyway, there is a sequence that features Ace looking at the Dolphins, to check which player has a missing stone in a  ring to find the person who stole the pet dolphin.

So in the sequence he is in the bathroom in a stall next to a Miami Dolphin and then the player thinks he is looking at his penis. Jut when we think Ace will get beat up, the player ends up to be interested and chases after him, alluding that he was gay.

So I think that player was Jeff Uhlenhake. If indeed was an ACTUAL Miami Dolphin and not some actor, then that was EXTREMELY brave of him to do so because some people might think it would ruin his reputation. And plus that this was 18 years ago. Times were different. Maybe these days, no player would do it.

Plaxico Rant

It's a long time since I have ranted on sports, let alone football, mostly because what concerns me, I put on Caramelitos Varonlies. Anyway, everyone knows about Mr. Giants Wide Reciever Plaxico Burress who took a gun in his sweatpants to a club and shot himself and now has been suspended and going to jail. I may get in trouble for this, but that hasn't stopped me before, that these football players are so dumb, they throw everything away for nothing. He was earning mad money and now his whole career is down the drain. It didn't hurt NY Giants loosing him, because they are a-okay with yesterday's events.

Super Bowl NY Giants Win

Watching ESPN, no one can stop talking about the Patriots coach running in the field with 2 secs to go. it was kind annoying but most of the pros are taking it easy, with stride. They forgive him. As for Eli Manning, like I said before, now people will recognize him more now. Most people thought something else of his demeanor but in reality, it was cool and collected. Even when they had to do that meaningless play at the 2 secs, Eli was completely professional--he takes it seriously and its no big deal. John Stewart guessed the Giants would win, that they would 'put something in' and they did. I hope he won his bet. As for the commercials, they always wane down after the half-time show. Same old same old, I was kinda disappointed when it came to the commercials. The Dawyne Wade/Charles commercial was funny and really rounded out that whole commercial story. Also, Tom Brady was completely professional and a good sportsman about loosing in front of the press.

Super Bowl XL II Crazyness

I couldn't post a pre-feelings of the show today, I wanted to post my feelings before the game and then later, but might as well do it now. Now, I used to go nuts about Brady and the Patriots going to the big game, but this year, I feel more for Eli Manning and the Giants, now being called 'the underdogs.' I really don't feel them as 'underdogs.' I think they passed that last year. I think Eli proved himself enough. But I guess everyone else will decide that by the end of this game. As for Brady, I don't feel the same way about him anymore after personal decisions (even though we all don't know the whole story and appearances can be deceiving) and his stubbornness of wanting to be on the game, even though of his knee. He could have put his ego aside and let baby boy Cassel play. But I guess he is a little thickheaded to think they wouldn't win without him. I find myself cheering for nimble Wes Welker, who is finally getting proper attention after not being able to do it before.

Every Super Bowl I usually watch the commercials more than anything. Even though the majority of them we will be seeing all year, some they won't run again, so it always interesting. When most go to the bathroom during the commercials, I used to go to the bathroom of the game Usually by the fourth quarter, I got bored. This year, I really am not cheering for either the Pats or the Giants. Just hope things work out, if that makes sense.

Miami disappointed about Brady Quinn

This weekend, Miami sports fans were disappointed about Brady Quinn not getting drafted in the Miami Dolphins. Everyone booed at the new coach and it doesn't make it better for him. Paul Castronovo of Big 105.9's 'Paul and Young Ron,' Paul planned to use the song 'Mandy' with 'Brady' but chose to have it with the coach's name and I think it came out better.

Now I do regret not being able to see that big slab of beef in the coveted aqua and orange, because Joey Harrington is not enough to stare at. Well kudos to the Browns for grabbing him, he'll do brown justice.

I wonder if he is like a fine wine and gets finer as he ages.

Super Bowl

I, as a gay man, love the Super Bowl. My family and I always have a big event and eat barbecue, chips and soda and watch the commercials. Most of the years, I do pay attention to the game but mostly watch because of the commercials. I always look forward to. What I haven't look forward to these days is the half-time show since the Jackson/Timberlake catastrophe. Will they ever trust a woman again to be in the half-time show?! (Last year it was Mcartney and this time Prince) Fergie was slated to a 'Pepsi Smash' show. Sunday's Super Bowl XLI is the third most watched television program in the United States drew nearly 2.5 million more viewers. Only the 1996 Dallas Cowboys' victory over Pittsburgh had a bigger TV audience, averaging 94.8 million viewers. Ironically, this year I only saw bits and pieces.

As for here in Miami, traffic was a nightmare in Miami beach because everyone was attracted to it to host parties while the actual Dolphin Stadium (Formerly the Pro Player/Joe Robbie Stadium) is about 18 miles away. And on Monday, the stadium's store had a 50% off sale bringing hordes of people as if they were looting the place. And major congrats to the Colts! Go Colts! God knows rain is a bitch to play in.

Nick Turnbull returns to Miami just after signing wih the Bears

Nick Turnbull is a football player that was the perspective leader of the Florida International University Football team that began in 2002. In 2006 he was drafted to the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent and recently was 'claimed off of waivers' (whatever that means) by the Chicago Bears on December 12, 2006. Ironically, the Chicago Bears are playing at the Super Bowl in Miami, near his hometown. (He was born in Miramar and the Dolphin Stadium is not technically in Miami but nearby.)

I don't know for sure if he will be playing in the Super Bowl, probably not. I went to the FIU as well, I think I graduated before he did. All the girls would swoon over him. He would hang around the main building where I worked. I remember he used to smile a lot and had a good demeanor most of time. I managed to gather some. Especially of his piercing eyes.

I don't think he has played yet for the Bears (he has joined the team at the tail end) but he is on a lot of webpages as part of the Bears team.

You can see his eyes popping out there, he is the one to the right.

Is it Saybin or Saban?

While all this crazyness is going on about Nick Saban leaving his position of being coach for the Miami Dolphins (everyone calling him a 'traitor' and 'quiter'), I have only one question...

Mientras que todo este loca-des sobre Saban dejando su posición como el coche de los Dolphins de Miami, tengo solamente una pregunta...

How do you pronounce his surname? Say-bin or Saban?

¿Cómo se pronuncia su apellido? ¿Say-Bin o Saban?

Dolphins beat the Patriots!

My favorite quarterback Tom Brady got his sweet ass kicked by the Miami Dolphins, out of all the teams out there, it was the dolphins! 21 to zip ya'll! This has not happened since 1972 and the Dolphins have had a bad season, they have sucked. I don't think the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl this time but who knows. I wish I could have catched Brady in Miami Beach but he probably is on his way home. Amazing sunday.
