Taco Bell has revealed their new Volcano Taco, supposedly hot and the color looks very suspicious. It looks a bit like the Pink Tacos from Pink Taco, which is also, if you didn't already know, a slang term for vaginas. Also check out their website. As for more on the Taco Bell taco, check their website. The American commercial is fine, but the Spanish version is suspicious with sexual innuendo. Unfortunately I don't have video since it is relatively new but it has people finding women (a young lady and a grandmother) in a car with steamy windows and making a post-orgasm face about the new taco. Hmm.. very subtle.Explaining the title: I am forty-something Latino who has a fondness for the Japanese culture and speak Spanglish--Spanish and English. Some people say "Span-English" so I mixed it with "Engrish," which is how some Japanese pronounce English.

Pollo Campero to Miami FINALLY?
Like I mentioned last March, I am coocoo over Pollo Campero. Nobody understands better than other Guatemalans or Guatemalan-Americans. I mentioned they are here in the U.S. but not in Miami, but it just so happens that in December a store just opened in Boynton Beach, Florida and now there is rumors of it coming to Calle Ocho--- Saying three section in Miami-Dade (Little Havana, Cutler Ridge, and near Dolphin Stadium). There happens to be some kind of fued over the family of the creators and owners, detailed here. And it just so happens, there is plans to have Pollo Camperos in United States Wal-Marts like they have McDonalds in two in Chicago and Dallas. Details here. Apparently someone feels the same as I do: MenuPages Blog.Sources:

What is up with Chocolate-fying everything?
I now gimmicks have been tried before with cereals and candies, but what is up with making chocolate products out of non-chocolate products? Just recently Chocolate Skittles was made, I haven't tried it because I am slightly repulsed. It doesn't mix in fruit, but it just doesn't look right. About more thna a year ago, Chocolate Lucky Charms was made, it just doesn't look right either.Tuesday, December 25
Burger King Whopper Freak Out
Why oh Why?
You know what really grinds my gears? These new commercials about replacing the Whopper and costumers freaking out about and dissing the competition (which Burger King started). Why? Just plain why?

The Real Tropical Fruits
Today my aunt brought us a fruit my mom calls Sapote (my mom is from Guatemala) and Cubans call it Mamey. I never tried it before and it was delicious and found it orgasmic. We looked it up and it is called Mamey Sapote, and Wikipedia says it can used as an aphrodisiac.
Mamey Sapote is used for ice cream, milkshakes and much more. Wikipedia is right when it says it tastes like a mix of pumpkin and honey. It is sweet but not too sweet. Now, here are other rarely known fruits.
My mom calls this fruit Mamey, in other places it is called Mamey Amarillo (Yellow), and Mamey de Santo Domingo. It grows around Jamaica, Santo Damingo, Spain and apparently from what my mom says Guatemala, meaning probably the rest of Central America.
Nisperio is one of our favorite fruits. It is small, yellow and a bit sour. We have always had it in our house. We had a tree in the front yard that was chopped down by my brother-in-law and one in the back yard that got wiped away by a hurricane. It grows only in the spring and first it has these small white flowers and strange brown things that sprout out to be the fruit.
It is referred to as Loquat in English. It apparently grows throughout the world since it grows in Lebanon, Syria, Italy, Spain, Bermuda, Japan, northern Africa and China. I see them peeled and hallowed out in Chinese and Japanese buffet restaurants.
Canistel, which i have never seen before--it said to be related to the Mamey Sapote (the first one). It looks more like the Nispero above. We know about the Mango, Plantains and Papaya, these are more rare and also tropical.

Stupid Spongebob Burger King
I haven't been able to find the commercial online, probably because it started airing this week, but there is this inane commercial for Spongebob Squarepants toys at Burger King where a mom promises her kids they will go to BK once their dad is done with his bath. He was in a bubble bath and comes out and puts a sponge on his head and asks his wife who he is imitating. He then made a horrible joke about having no 'pants', ugh. It was uncomfortable, embarrassing and a bit too full of adult innuendo for a commercial for children's toys.

Pollo Campero
When one thinks of the nation of Guatemala, fried chicken might not be the top of the list. My parents and entire family are from Guatemala. The most popular fried chicken fast food chain in Central America originated in Guatemala and is known as Pollo Campero ('Country Chicken'). I can recount of stories of people bringing boxes of the delicious (by my account) chicken with them on board the airplane to the states. Strangely enough the chain has restaurants in Chicago, Virgina and Maryland but not in Miami, the leading capital in Latinos. Of course, New York, California, and Texas have the distinction of being the first cities in the United States to carry the chain. Its been like probably four years since I've had their chicken. I know it might not taste the same in the States, they aren't exactly the monster mutant machince of MickeyDees.Saturday, December 16
Dance Dance Revolution at Burger King

Why would they have this as a toy for kids? Is this for kids to be more active? Or has Dance Dance Reovlution sold out? Check here at the official site.
