Eli Manning hosts Saturday Night Live for the first time and was so hilarious. I guess it runs in the family. Peyton Manning was always funny on SNL and I think he could get a future in comedy films. Every sketch Eli was in was funny, especially the one with the girl and the game show called "What's This." And also the PSA about getting revenge on big brothers. But the last sketch of him as drag king, he seemed a bit forced and was obvious he was reading cue cards but it was written funny, especially with Kristen Wigg as a drag king.
Explaining the title: I am forty-something Latino who has a fondness for the Japanese culture and speak Spanglish--Spanish and English. Some people say "Span-English" so I mixed it with "Engrish," which is how some Japanese pronounce English.

Awesome Suburgatory Thanksgiving Episode!!!
It should had been a 1-hour special! OMG, what a great episode. Every episode of this new show has been awesome but this was just gravy. We have our established characters in Tessa (Jane Levy), her dad George (Jeremy Sisto), Dallas (Cheryl Hines), Sheila (Ana Gasteryer) and Lisa (Allie Grant). Now we meet the others in their families, like Dallas' absent husband played by Jay Mohr. Chris Parnell, Ana Gasteryer's fellow SNL alum reprises his role as her husband and Lisa's dad. Lisa stands up for herself in this episode, Sheila is a over-controlling mother and wants Lisa to wear a horrible pilgrim outfit. Geroge asks Dallas to take Tessa out and they end up in Manhattan. We get a little bit of the conversation between George and Tessa, Tessa catches George kissing another woman in Manhattan, she is more upset about him going to Manhattan than going out with a woman without him not telling her. It should had been 2 episodes, it was so good. Maybe squeezing all that stuff together makes it good. We also see Noah (Alan Tudyk)'s wife, Gillian Vigman (who does those Room to Go commercials) who is a MADtv alum, we see another MADtv alum Mo Collins in Sheila's household. Lisa even streaks as rebellion.

Is it me or Melissa McCarthy played the same Bridesmaids character on SNL?
Last night Melissa McCarthy hosted Saturday Night Live, and I watched it online now, and almost every skit she played a similar character and much like the character she played on Bridesmaids. And many of the skits had her doing gross stuff, which I don't see them having Scarlett Joshanan doing.

Victoria Jackson's attention getting about Glee Gay Kiss
Okay, my friends already heard me rant about this. Victoria Jackson, Saturday Night Live alum is now trying to get attention (from already declaring that the president is a communist) by being outraged by Kurt and Blaine kissing in Glee. She said she loved the show, that she identified with Kurt's struggle, and that she knows her gay friends are probably not going to approve (are you kidding me? Of course not, you stupid bitch). And now she is getting flack and rightly so. For some time, Jackson has appeared on Bill O’Reilly’s show and The 700 Club, claiming to be a devout Christian and fervent Republican. My friend brought up a good point in saying that she had no idea who Victoria Jackson was, and that proves what her impact has been. Her last acting role was in "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight" in 2009 as Aunt Grace, aunt to one of the main characters, an aspiring writer. She needs help, really. And HLN and other news networks have to stop giving her attention.
She said that she knew other people felt like her and yes, that they do. And they aren't silenced at all, lady. You are silencing other people. You are just outraged about two kids in love? And you said it was the worse thing on TV? Hello?! Go complain about family Guy and blood coming out of a baby or the Jersey Shore, but not Glee. It has taken years for gay people to be taken seriously, let alone gay characters. Gay teens never gotten to kiss and they are a significant minority. Kurt and Blaine are positive role models, they don't do drugs, they don't drink too much (Blaine did but learned his lesson I hope), they care about others and represent so many kids out there. Do you know how many gay teen suicides happen every year Victoria?! Ugh, just go home and feed your cats.Friday, January 28
Bobby Moynihan should play Taco Bell President Greg Creed on SNL
Taco Bell President Greg Creed above with Ken and Barbie. Creed has come around because of the debate over Taco Bell not having Beef. I think Saturday Night Live, if they do a sketch about this, should use Bobby Moynihan as Greg Creed. He could totally played him. Many like his take on Snooki.

Vanessa Bayer as Miley Cyrus on SNL

Vanessa Bayer, a new featured castmember of "Saturday Night Live" made a pretty accurate version of Miley Cyrus tonight. Usual people that make fun of Miley Cyrus aren't really good, she did her research and did a real good job! She was really loud and that's what Miley does. And it is the same reaction to everything. And the expressions, oh my god, accurate.

Taran Killam on SNL, being the second to have also been on MADtv
MADtv is over but Taran Killam is a new cast member for Saturday Night Live's 36th season, making him the 2nd SNL cast member who previously worked on its former rival show MADtv (the first being Jeff Richards).Sunday, May 9
Betty White on Saturday Night Live Review

Some may consider this episode 'over-hyped' as people on Facebook helped Betty White host Saturday Night Live last night. It was a special Mother's day episode with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. I think it was worth the wait! It definitely was great! One reviewer said that the writers didn't know what to do with her but I hate to admit it because it is kinda true. They used her as the 'grandma' like four times (opening sketch, Macgruber's grandma, Macintosh's grandma, and Gingey's grandma) and an old lady twice. It was nice to see the guest former castmembers in sketches. Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon returned to their mellow-voiced NPR Delicious Dish. Maya Rudolph got plenty of screen time as Whitney Houston on Weekend Update. Dratch didn't get much, just a CSI spoof with White. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey got to do "Really?" with Seth Meyers which was very poignant and funny. Tina Fey got the last sketch of the night with White. And I thought Jay-Z retired. Two 'retirees' that night.

Gabourey Sidibe offers a hilarious SNL
Gabourey Sidibe (Gabe-o-ray Sid-duh-bay) stumbled with a couple of her lines but was pretty good, the audience laughed a lot in her favor. She was very funny. She knows how to deliver her lines and her timing, when right, is good. Just need more practice. I do understand if she was nervous. Some of the roles they put her on are a bit stereotypical like a Jamaican nurse, poor old lady screaming out of window and a Jazz singer, but she is so delightful and charming, that even with the weak twists, it is forgivable. She and Andy Samberg have a digital short call Cherry Battle that at first looks absurd but then turns out to actually be pretty funny and delightful ends at a high note. You just got to see it for yourself. SNL should have got her as soon as she was nominated for the Oscars, but booking guest hosts has been a bit off since last year (and disaster booking Megan Fox after her movie bombed). Here it comes: Betty White next week on SNL!
Betty White will host NBC's "Saturday Night Live" May 8, the network confirmed March 11th after weeks of speculation and fan campaigning. Besides featuring the "Golden Girl," who was the subject of a Facebook campaign to get her the gig, the special Mother's Day episode will also reunite six former female "SNL" cast members, most of whom happen to be moms: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. And while White, 88, has no children of her own -- except for her golden retriever, Pontiac -- Michaels justifies her Mother's Day appearance by explaining, "She's the mother of us all in comedy."

Taylor Swift on Saturday Night Live
Taylor Swift did a decent job tonight, she had terrific delivery--especially with The View segment as Kate (from Kate plus 8). It is clear she was nervous, that she kept staring blankly when she stared forward. Some of her reactions were much like with a little kid from Nickelodeon, that it was timed and sometimes didn't match and she would take a deep breath before her line. Also, you can clearly seen to be staring at cue cards. Yes, I am harsh, and like a typical internet blogger, but I love her and I think she should have just relaxed. I think it was a bit too soon to have her do SNL, that she should have had more acting practice. It was a funny episode, with their funniest regular characters back (Peneolpe, Macintosh). They certainly were creative when characters for Taylor to play... Kate and Skeet Delvin--a white female counterpart to Macintosh (Kennan).

Winnie's new friend
Lottie the Otter is Winnie the Pooh's new friend, in the new book written by David Benedictus and illustrated by Mark Burgess, and approved by the Pooh Trustees, it is called "The Return to the Hundred Acre Wood." In the course of “Return to the Hundred Acre Wood,” the publisher said, Lottie takes a swim in Christopher Robin’s bath, helps to set up a school for the denizens of the Hundred Acre Wood, and turns out to be great at cricket. Last night Seth Meyers did a controversial joke on Saturday Night Live, saying she would replace Eeyore because he 'finally did it,' showing an illustration of a fallen chair and the famously depressed donkey hanging. The audience groaned and booed, Seth then added, "It could have been sexual asphyxiation."Sunday, August 23
Megan Fox to host SNL Premiere
Megan Fox will host the premiere episode of "Saturday Night Live" on September 26th in New York City. “Megan is psyched to have gotten this opportunity,” tan insider told Life & Style. “She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience. This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills, as she’s launching her new movie Jennifer’s Body.” Fox did a digital short with Andy Samberg in Los Angeles. The Movie comes out September 18. I personally think she may not have much talent, there is alot concentration on her acting nowadays. I read in a magazine interview that she was worried herself about her acting skills. That she was like 'oh my god, now I have to act now.' (Paraphrasing) So, I am expecting a similar performance like they got out of Paris Hilton... a sour one. Or she can play the cute 'girl-next-door' and laugh and giggle and be down to Earth. One would hope.Saturday, February 7
Bradley Cooper on SNL
I was thrilled to find out Bradley Cooper was hosting tonight Saturday Night Live. He was understandably thrilled to be hosting the show. He had to remind the audience what movies he has been on, he mentioned Wedding Crashers and talked about how he has been bullies. Well, I think he has played more buddies than anything... like in Yes Man and Failure to Launch.Saturday, January 10
Dike joke in SNL
The opening sketch featured Jason Sudeikis as Rod Blagojevich being interview by Abbie Elliott (Daughter of Chris Elliott!) as Rachel Maddow and now that Jason is playing more jackasses, he says, "I feel like a dutch boy with his finger in a dike." And he made two nods towards Rachel and saying that she would know he was talking about. Crude but funny.

SNL: Paul Rudd is a brave one
Finally a funny post-political season SNL, I think SNL will be doing fine. Paul Rudd takes it there, he is not afraid. Of course since he has lots of improv experience. He didn't even plug his new movie Role Models in his opening monologue. He did poke fun at SNL being in post-political season and had Kristen Wigg join in the fun---not as Sarah Palin but as an obscure politician. I am sure others won't agree. But there was one sketch where Rudd and Andy Samberg are roommates and go to Rudd's character's home where he, his parents and brother kiss on the lips and ends up with a kiss orgy. And there was...what I guess was a Digital Short with Andy Samberg and Paul Rudd painting each other naked ala Titanic and ending up to be one those Ben Stiller/Adam Samberg-ish movies. There were lots of gender bending and challenging of gender norms in this episode and that's great. And more bloody sketches, always good. And of course, a gay marriage skit with Rudd and Bill Hader about closeted guys that ended up sweet and not like all completely "ha ha, they are gay."Sidebar: I had to mention Weekend Update, with the 'featuring castmember' dressed up as Snagglepuss discussing what Seth Meyers puts as a 'setback for the gay community' just like straight guys say to separate themselves from stuff. Snugglepuss 'came out' and announce he wanted to married the little green The Great Kazoo. That was hiliarious. Cute. But I am not going to put much against Meyers since he was equally prejudice with racist jokes like "Laura Bush and Michelle Obama met and Laura kept a close look at her pocket book." Everyone booed for that and for ban on gay marriage. John Stewart went through the same booing thign when he mentioned it on "The Daily Show."

Tina Fey as Sarah Palin
Tina Fey as Sarah Palin was a stroke of genius, when people mentioned Sarah looked like Tina, I never imagined she would played her. Of course, Tina has friends at SNL and they probably begged her to do so. She nailed it with the accent, but she did play her a little dumb. Amy Poheler as Hilary Clinton was as funny as ever.

Maya Rudolph leaves SNL after 7 years
I know it has been probably a month, but I have only been able to cover this until now. Maya Rudolph started in 2000 with SNL and disappeared after the writer's strike. When Tina Fey hosted Saturday Night Live on Feb 23, Maya didn't come back. She gave back to her daughter in 2005, maybe she wanted to take her of her kid. EURweb.com says: "Turns out the actress has been working without a contract since the beginning of the season. She had originally told NBC on Sept. 23 that she would leave the show because of unspecified contract issues. But she changed her mind and decided to return for her eighth season and work until a new contract could be hammered out." She says: "It was an agonizing decision, but ultimately, I feel I made the best choice both as a mother and as an actress. I couldn’t be happier to be returning to SNL,' Rudolph said in a statement at the time." She will soon be in a untitled romantic comedy with John Krasinski. EURweb.com

Brian Williams on SNL!
When I hear Brian Williams was going to be on "Saturday Night Live," I was excited and felt it was going to be really funny. He has shown his sense of humor in his frequent guest spots in "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report." Brian Williams sure exceeded my expectations. First he was in that Bronx talk show sketch with the two chatty ladies played by Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph. He played a firefighter with a New York accent and seemed nervous to be on screen. He definitely played it well, he kept in character for the most part. Shy and modest as the two wondered if he had '8-pack abs.' An expected sketch was him playing himself, but it was hilarious. It was like a digital video, showing him as vain and pretentious. He exercised on a treadmill... with in-line skates, eating in the NBC lunch room... at his independent table, and waiting outside for someone to recognize him.
Another funny sketch was him playing a delusional disgruntled actor played a teacher in a teen show that was about to end and spin-off without him. Randomly, he boasts that he was on "Quantum Leep." Guest stars included Bono, Obama, the "Today" guys, and Horatio Sanz, who I guess no one could play that half-Mexican senator dude. Bottom line, Brian Williams and hot and hilarious. Usually when they get non-funny people, it goes down hill. But this year, SNL has been lucky with him and Payton Manning.
