Heroes: Origins - Building on Mythology and cool Spin-Off idea

[Christopher Eccleston above]

Everyone has been asking me if I've seen "Heroes" and my answer is more or less yes. I've seen a number of episodes but I haven't seen all of them. When I first heard it was coming out last July, I felt like it had been done and it would never be a hit. Mainly because I think I had an overload of regular people having superpowers and it being compared to average life and having a big crisis like "4400", X-Men, etc. But it pretty much surprised everybody, having not two but three or four catchphrases (the cheerleader one, Yata!, and 'Are you on the list?') and making Milo Ventimiglia slightly likable (didn't have much fans with 'Gilmore Girls' or that god awful WB series 'Bedford Diaries').

Now its spin-off "Heroes: Origins" is a pretty cool idea for a spin-off. During "Heroes" hiatus (curing the period where there is no new episodes), there will be 30 or so episodes--each one focusing on a new character and fans will vote online on which one should be on the 'mother' show. They say they still haven't fully put the schedule in stone but definitely it won't be 'peppered' throughout the season so it will confuse the audience. I hope not. But it definitely saved NBC. 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip', weep.

DILF of the year declines Playgirl

Daniel Birkhead, who is not as hot as a D.I.L.F. as Brad Pitt, but still hot enough to be asked by Playgirl to bare all. He declined the $100,000 offer by them and he told In Touch Weekly magazine, "I'm too chicken to take my shirt off most of the time, much less my pants!" Playgirl claims he is peak physical condition. I saw a pic of him shirtless, I don't think so. I think he did a good move because he is responsible for his little girl, he should have a bit of class.

Well, that pic of him and her shirtless was kinda cute.

Barbarella Update: Robert Rodriguez Directs

As mentioned in February, Martha and Dino De Laurentiis plan to bring the comic book vixen back, now they have announced revolutionary director Robert Rodriguez is attached to the movie. He says it will 'not be campy' which I seriously doubt. It's Barbarella, if he doesn't want it to be campy, it will still come out campy. We are talking about a gay icon for god's sakes. It is inevitable.

Eric Winter Eye Candy

Eric Winter plays Jason McAllister in "Brothers & Sisters," the third match to the gay brother (Matthew Rhys) and Rob Lowe's gay minister brother. He's so hot.

He played Rex Brady for three years or so on "Days of Our Lives" and has done a number of commercials.

He recently was in ABC Family's "Wildfire" series and a lot of short-lived series.

He played a very good looking piece of furniture on "CSI".

Bridge to Terabithia Review

I finally saw Bridge to Terabithia and I had read the book. Fans of the book said they were mislead by the trailers that the movie was going to be like its current predecessors where the kids actually go to the fantasy world. Thank god, it remains more or less true the book. The movie is set in modern times and keeps the somber feeling of the book. The death is still sort of a surprise, the movie doesn't talk down to the kids but still feel like a children's movies. It is a serious Children's movie, I used to hate those when I was a kid because I felt like it was boring. But seeing this as an adult, it is just plain awesome, I wish it had a little more to it though. There is a strong performance from Robert Patrick as the boy's father. The kids are adorable, good casting. Josh Hutcherson, the boy, has this rugged presence--definitely like Daniel Radcliffe, he will make one handsome leading man. The CGI is awesome, doesn't invade the film and the CGI characters aren't annoying, they barely talk. The religious stuff is toned down in the flick but a solid film. Worthy part of a family's home collection.

Twentysomethings: Over the Rainbow

This is by no means a memorial or think of it as something died, this is celebrate and to have in acknowledgment. This is for a youth group of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals that have laughed, shared and cried together for five years. Every ending has a beginning and I'm happy I was part of it. I got this cake and we had fun. Most youth groups I've been part of (Catholic ones, two), I have quit. This is the first one that I've seen to the end. Funny because I was at the beginning of the other ones and not this one. But for Kevin and everyone else, it's been fun.
