Grey's Anatomy Brooke Smith

Brooke Smith is the new addition to "Grey's Anatomy," where she plays Erica Hahn, who replaces Dr. Burke at Seattle Grace. I think it was a good choice. it made sense for one and it shakes this up for Christina (Sandra Oh). TV Guide magazine mentioned they thought Brooke was going to be gay and that they thought of the possibility of her and Christina being together. Producers have toyed with the idea of Sandra Oh being bisexual. But in October 25 episode, the character of Erica specifically said she was into men. And was antagonistic towards Christina. It seems they are rivals. Maybe, if they do indeed choose to reveal Erica is gay or bisexual, they can say she was just using that as a front.

Brooke Smith and Sandra Oh actually did play lovers in a Sapphic off-Broadway play called "Stop Kiss." Smith told TV Guide that she and Oh have been "secretly pushing [to reunite on screen]... But I don't think anyone knows what's going to happen." If Brooke Smith looks familiar, she was the victim in the hole in 1991's Silence of the Lambs.

Patrick Dempsey-It's a good thing

Some people might believe we are seeing too much Patrick Dempsey. But come on, think about it... the poor guy has had to struggle after being a teen heartthrob and now is finally getting his second chance or whatever. Even I have to admit that I thought he is shown as the Grey Anatomy's poster child instead of Ellen Pompeo, who is the protagonist. But maybe it is a good thing. He represents noble and intelligent sensitive men out there, even if it is a McDream.

Grey's Anatomy Season Four Episode One Review

A lot has changed by season four. The whole dynamic in the hospital has flipped. Dr. Torres is now chief resident, while our favorite interns are residents, except for George, who going through the motions. The residents have their own little interns. Meredith hasn't talked to Derek since the non-wedding, to make matters worse is Lexie, Meredith's half-sister is 'the girl from the bar' and now an intern. She is basically Neo-Meredith, worry-wart and making pretty much the same strides as her sister. On top of that, she is friends with George. She freaks out when she meets Meredith, which Meredith also does. Izzie, is all foot in the mouth as usual, all worried about George and her interns don't respect her and tries to find a case. Miranda is upset about Callie being chosen and one still misses her and respects her. Derek tries to find a friend with the absence of his core people. Christina deals with an issue of loss. The five are pretty tight after all these years. More than ever, the characters have patients mirror how they feel. This time it resonates more than there is time to analyze. For example, George staring at babies, one he delivered, after Callie saying she might be pregnant.

Where I thought I would given up on the show, I felt detached from the show, now I think it can pull me back in. The premiere has a good pace and more interesting than the first episode of "Private Practice."

Congrats Katherine Heigl

When Katherine Heigl won for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, they cut to her and when the directors of the Emmys saw she was about to say 'shit,' they cut to another image. Just be easy on her people, she has had a tough time in tinsel town and didn't expect to win. Her speech was very authentic. I don't think she is bitchy, she is real. I'm not going to cry on YouTube but she deserves the award and congrats to her.

Bye Bye Isaiah: Justice, we can all move on

Poor Christina didn't get married but luckily Isaiah Washington got kicked out. T.R. Knight also gets a raise (offered him a per-episode salary of $125,000). They just need to move on. What really got me was his lack of class at the award show press conference, how he just acted like the slur was nothing--he has since apologized to the tee. 'Every Gay person's best friend' Kahterine Heigl has already forgiven him. Bottom line: McBoring is gone. We all need to move on.

Chris Lowell's body: who knew?

Until I saw the back door pilot for "Private Practice" on "Grey's Anatomy," I did not understand why Chris Lowell was chosen as the 'hot intern' since he was pretty much a overclothed super-haired boy in "Veronica Mars" and "Life As We Know It."

But then there was the surfer scene. The girls tell Addison when they are down and out, they sit and wait for Dell to come around before he goes surfing. Greatest sequence ever because they focused a lot on his nipples and hairs on his abs and pecs. His nice large yummy nipples. Awesome. I totally forgot he had a great body, from two or three scenes in "Life As We Know It." Wow.

If you missed it

I like the song played during the sequence but after seeing it over and over again, I have to agree with his boss he was hitting on--he's a fetus.

Grey's Anatomy Spin-off Review

Thursday, the much-talked about two-hour backdoor pilot for Addison aired and it has gotten mixed reviews. It was pretty good surprisingly. At first view, the characters were annoying but they quickly grow on you. Taye Diggs' character is annoying, while Merrin Dungey was actually pleasant!!!! I have always found Tim Daly sexy and hot, he still is. They picked the right guy. Great chemistry between Amy Brenneman (Whose character I find too mopey and weak, I miss the strong Amy) with that other guy I didn't catch his name and can't find it. Also chemistry between Tim and Kate, Kate and Merrin and the whole group. They said the episode would not be completely about Addison but there was more on her than the action at Seattle Grace and that was just fine. The episode didn't skip a beat, until the stuff with McSteamy (zzz...) and I expected more from Christina freaking from wedding stuff--it was nice seeing her mother and her future step-mom ganging up on her. There was a lot of patient stuff, it was a little disorientating but it was well crafted.

Marti Noxon is said to be part of the spin-off but I dunno if she wrote the second half, Shonda did the first half. The guys have great chemistry. The stuff between Alex and his 'Jane Doe' is really good and still very strong. They could spin-off that relationship, no, just kidding. Even that annoying blonde lady from 'Everwood' was a good guest, as a lady who wants a baby from a surrogate with many possible fathers. The end with Meredith's father was so great, it was so awesome the characters they chose to be there. The usually puddy duddy dad, what he did was shocking but not out of character, seems right. I mean what he did wasn't right, but eh. As for Burke and Christina, they are great together but I don't think they will make it the long run. Who knows? As for how Addison treats her friend, eh, too mean. Addison was all over the place but she does seem part of this new group. She takes command, even though she isn't completely. So yeah, she is kind of Meredith. As for her want for a baby, I thought it was kind of selfish and dumb reason for her to go to L.A. after everything that happened between Alex and McSteamy, it seemed forced. And much like its big sister, it is sex-crazed as ever. The Elevator thing was funny, I thought it was part of the therapy. Tilly, hee hee. It is true about the horny aphrodisiac elevators.

If it does get picked up, I hope we don't get narrations.

Grey's Anatomy New Ep this Thursday!

A repeat was supposed to air on Thursday for Grey's but ABC has decided to show a new episode--the episode where George and Izzie talk about their hookup.

More Join the Addison Spin-Off

The plot still hasn't been explained or the name to the Grey's Anatomy Spin-off but more casting news....

The first to be announced to join Kate Walsh (Addison) was Taye Diggs ("Kevin Hill", "Daybreak"...

...Then Tim Daly ("Wings", "The Fugitive") and now...

Amy Brenneman ('Judging Amy') I think is a nice classy touch. Maybe competition for Addison?

Also announced Merrin Dungey who is just a powerhouse and no surprise she was chosen. You might recognize her from "Alias", "Malcolm in the Middle" and not to mention, she was also in "Grosse Pointe" which I've been mentioning. I see her character more annoying than Kali Rocha's love-to-hate-her creepy-smile doctor.

Also Chris Lowell ("Veronica Mars", "Life as we know it") has been announced as part of the cast. Perhaps an even younger intern?

Addison spin-offs well deserved but stirs jealously

Kate Walsh, who portrays Dr. Addison Montgomery is getting spinned off on a own series. Congrats to her. When news broke, "The rest of the cast seemed instantly resentful of [Walsh]," says a source, because they all thought they were going to get their own show. Dr. Grey herself, Ellen Pompeo, was especially unhappy, as she thought she should've been consulted. - AOL article here. I think they should have spinned her off earlier. I've grown to like her and believe she is integral to the series now. Other characters that are worthy to be spin-off are Callie and Joe the gay bartender. Most likely, Addison will be moving away because sources says the series won't be based in Seattle like the original.

Good news is that series creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes brought it up and will be completely behind me. It surprises me because it sounds sort of flimsy and would have liked that the spin-off series would not be like medical. But some critics believe it would be like a 'Law & Order' or 'C.S.I.' franchise. Anyhoo, I think Kate is worthy of heading her own series.
Hopefully Dr. Steamy or Callie will make guest spots. While the drama behind the series has caused more gossip than the actual series, I hope that brickering dies out soon. One of my favorite critics, Matt Roush talks about his reactions on TVGuide.com.

Grey's Writers: You better be going somewhere with this

Last week was enough with its shocking cliffhanger but this cliffhanger was beyond the pale, no pun intended. This is as spoiler free as I can try to be. But you better be going somewhere with this with last night's cliffhanger (which I just saw), 'Grey's Atanomy' writers. This is an awesome show and still is and I bet you a lot of fans are up in arms. Mostly they are denying that the obvious will happen and there will a dynamic change. I was kind of not all for the 'big event' episodes where a big disaster happens, like the airplane crash in season 3 of 'Nip/Tuck' but this one really pulled together the characters. I thought this arc was a two parter but it actually is a three parter.

Spoilers in white:
I am in the camp that says Meredith is not dead. But I think it is kick ass that they take risk as in making the audience believe that the main character is dead. I would totally be sad and mad if she is indeed dead but it was defiantly cool that they brought Denny and Kyle Chandler's bomb emergency guy from the Super Bowl episode they encored this Friday night.

Kudos to Kate Walsh on MadTV!

Kudos to Kate Walsh for her comic turn on MADTV as a wife and mother who holds a misguided treasure hunt that ends in children finding a dead cat, a vibrator and a bunch of other unpleasant things.

Fire when ready

All this buzz about the possibility of Isaiah Washington being fired because of his comments about T.R. during shooting and at Golden Globes press conference. I saw the video, he busted through his fellow cast members and the creator of the show, grabbed the mic and said, "No I didn't call T.R. a faggot." He said like it was nothing and he was too cool. Now, why did he apologize a few weeks ago? And the way he said it was very unpleasing. I totally understand why Karherine Heigl. His character story lines are weakening and not being as interesting, so it would be no lost. As for this 'counseling' stuff, that is no surprise and complete bull and Jay Leno predicted it.

In the latest information, Sloan, Addison, McDreamy, and Isaiah's character were all hungry for being chief when the chief retired and Miranda was the most logically candidate. I think those characters have to eat their guff and let her shine.

Grey's Cast Get Over it!

I wish the cast gave it all a rest. Learn from your mistakes, let this guy say what he says and move on. And let the others deny it. Now I do believe Isaiah Washington did say what they claim he did because in one instance he apologized. Why would he apologize for something he know denies?

Men in Trees stomps Six Degrees

ABC's Six Degrees has been cancelled and Men in Trees starring Anne Heche about a love counselor whose 'perfect relationship' falls apart decides to stay in an all-male small town. It will now air Thursdays at 10pm. I will sure miss seeing it on Friday but I think it is a perfect pair with Grey's Anatomy. Not like Six Degrees wasn't at all but there sure are too many Lost clones and two on ABC is too much.

Grey's Anatomy T.R. Knight outted

This is an open letter to actor T.R. Knight who plays the lovelorn George on 'Grey's Anatomy' who I feel has been force out because of questions of his sexuality. The tabloids who I hold with a grain of salt that supposedly Isaiah Washington said a gay slur. Anyhoo, T.R. released a statement ten days ago.

Dear Theodore Raymond Knight,

I regret it had to be this way but it seems many people are obessed to know if an actor or celebrity is gay and then forget about them when they do. Although it can be said that there is a lot of successful celebrities that have come out but that is like a handful. At least it is in the air now. I honestly admire you, I understand you want to keep to your private life private but you don't care what people care. It honestly is no one business. I came out ten years ago when I was a teenager, and it was a long road but also helped me accept myself. Just let no one get to you (I had my hair blue once too!). Like you said, it is no the only aspect of you and it doesn't define all of you. I think of it, if people know other people have a girlfriend or wife, then why not know this and be fine with it? It is all should be the same.

They freakin' followed these guys.

Poor Finn, but if I knew my guy could do this, I wouldn't leave him for any McDreamy.

I just love Grey Matter where the writers of Grey's Anatomy post their thoughts and fellings of episodes they have written. It is a great website. They are honest and wonderful. As for Thursday 10/19's episode "Oh, The Guilt" was one of he best episodes of the entire show. Third season has been good so far but this episode stands out. Izzie's storyline and Burke's storyline have been moving on slowly but this is when they have bite the dust and really face their demons. Especially Miranda. In this episode, the gang is excited to go to an M&M where the higher-ups being blamed and stuff but then they bring up the issue of Denny. Unfortuantely it is Miranda who has to bite it for their mistake and Izzie is in the room.

Miranda is blamed that because she was a mother that applied to it. Miranda faces that being a mother is what makes her strong. Meredith of course worries about something and never speaks out. That she said 'no' to Finn (Chris O' Donnell) and that Derek bowed out. In true Grey fashion, when Meredith does actually admit to Derek, he is aloof. There is a great scene between Izzie and Burke. Izzie admits that they were friends, they had a great report and I'm glad they touched on it. It was a powerful scene. So yeah, everyone has guilt, even Callie who slept with McSteamy in the last episode.

The episode was written by Zoanne Clack, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, by focusing on every character, they still capture each character's voice. Christina is classic when a guy gets a heart attack, she says 'Thank god--I mean Code Blue." Everyone discovers what they should have already know. Izzie is a suregon, Miranda is a mother, etc. So yeah, great ep.
