Kudos to Ruebens

Paul Reubens has recently showing up on last Thursday's '30 Rock' doing a ' Jimny Glick/Mike Meyers' yawn role, and now on 'Dirt' as an old reporter friend of Lucy. And he also will appear in the movie Reno 911!: Miami. Glad for the dramatic turn in 'Dirt.'

Déjà vu storylines for Rick Fox

Go-to-jackass Rick Fox that you may seen but can't name. He has been on "Oz", "1-800-Missing" and "Love, Inc." but what is curious is that a storyline has repeated on him. Recently he played Daunte on "One Tree Hill" and threatened to hurt basketball player Nathan's (James Lafferty) knees. Now he is on "Dirt", as a basketball player who Lucy (Courtney Cox) is blackmailing and he has spilled on his mob boss and in tonight's episode, he was threatened to loose his knees and did! So either the Dirt writers don't keep track on his work or they really really do.

It is common to happen that TV shows will have similar story lines or premises but I just noticed one. In last Sunday the 14th's episode of Brothers and Sisters, Sex and the City's Jason Lewis started his guest star role as Chad Berry a soap star who has a crush on the 'Gay Brother' Matthew Rhys and they evidently start a secret relationship. Now on tonight's Dirt (Courtney Cox's new FX series), Lucy's brother Leo played by Will McMormack (The Sopranos' Jason La Penna) was given a hummer by a popular married star Jack Dawson (Melrose Place's Grant Show). Both Lewis and Grant are playing closeted super stars.

Great storylines, because you just get a rise when a hot straight guy, especially a celebrity turns out to be gay.

FX's new show Dirt finally has a woman lead

FX Network's original dramas have had one pattern... with The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, and the short-lived show "Lucky", all the protagnists have been male. Their upcoming show Dirt (January 2007) will have a female lead. While Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback), Matthew Perry (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), and Jennifer Aniston (The Break-Up) have moved on (not counting Matt LeBlanc's Joey), Courteney Cox has chosen Dirt to be her next project on Television.

She stars as Lucy Spiller, the editor-in-chief of two tabloids that are the biggest in the country who gets celebrities pissed off. David Arquette and Courteney Cox are the executive producers of the Pilot and the creator Matthew Carnahan is also director of the pilot and executive producer of the show. Knowing FX's shows, this is likely not to shy away from controversy and want to shock the pants off you.
