Annoying Camel Geico Commericals

It is not enough Geico has ten million spokespeople like the gecko, dollars with google-y eyes, but a year ago there was a camel that said "Hump Day." But now they have added a new commercial.

It is where idiotic people at a zoo imitate the commercial to 'real' camels. Of course, in this commercial they talk, but I am just hoping people aren't really doing this at zoos. Or even trying to do it now that they have the idea from this commercial.

That is not Leslie Mann in the LG Refrigerator commercial?

This is not Leslie Mann? I thought it was her. Leslie Mann was in The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, This is 40 and 17 Again.

Critiquing Sofia Vergara's Bedding

Sofia Vergara has bedding at K-Mart, I was recently at that store looking for bedding and found garish and excruciatingly loud colors. For one thing, her selection is very solid colors and if it has any details, they fade into the main color because there is not enough of a difference between the shades. I know I never talk about interior design but my best friend once said I would make a good interior designer.

There is a lot of black. In fact, there is a lot of stereotypical 'Latin' colors like Scarlet, Black, Orange and Purple. It is like she took a bunch of Mexican Prom dresses and cut them up and put them on the bed. Who exactly is this for? It certainly doesn't look like anything for a Suburbian Housewife. It looks more for women like her... sexy women over their 40's.

Hers is better than anything Kardashian. Above is Kardashian collection. Apparently they want the middle class to look like a dress a skinny 90 year-old woman would were.

Sexist AT&T commercial

"In this U-verse spot, we open on a young boy and girl on the edge of a pool in their backyard. They're watching Team USA compete in an Olympic swimming race on a TV on the back patio. The girl's teenage sister is standing next to the TV and starts ranting how good these kids have it because they're able to move the TV around wherever. While talking, she's trying to blow up an inner tube using a handheld pump. But the pump isn't working. When the young girl points this out, she gives up, and throws down the float in frustration."

Little black boy tells teenager sister "You talk a lot." Sexist commercial. Just because she talks a lot, it is worth mentioning and that is all he has worth to say. Little boy, talking is not a bad thing. She is smart, you are not if you don't believe in free speech. But of course it is not the children, it is the adult writers who wrote it.

Sexy Grandpa from Geico

"I'm not your daddy, I'm your Grandpa," is very popular with high school kids and kids in Elementary school and they sing it a lot. It drives me crazy. I thought it wasn't much of a song, but it is really catching on. People like it a lot and Geico even has it for free download. But Really? REALLY?!

Justice - Cilivization in Adidas Commercial

Justice's new song 'Civilization' is in new Adidas ads here in America and I swear it sounds like they were saying 'The beating of Megatron.' But here is the real lyric:

The beating of a million drums.
The fire of a million guns.
The mother of a million sons.

Huggies Commercial using same baby for both genders

There is this Huggies Commercial in which has a 1 year old and his parents and family and the baby communicates through a puppet, shocking the parents. In the first version, it is a boy and it is harsh, he says his dad blames him for gas. But now there is a girl version that uses the same baby and it is the same exact commercial, but a female voice and it is a little softer, it is about what the girl wants. I am all for gender equality, but this is really awkward.

Evangeline Lilly Livelinks Chatline still airing

Before Lost, around 2004, Evangeline Lilly did a commercial for "Livelinks Chatline." Those companies that caters to people who watch late-night TV. AND it is still airing! I saw it today at 5:30am on TBS. I wonder how Lilly feels about this and if it is legal, wonder how long she signed the contract for.

Jaime Pressley in Raunchy Axe Commercial

I just recently saw this commercial but apparently it has been around longer. This Youtube video below has been online since January. It is way too obvious an raunchy and I am surprised Jaime Pressley participated in this. Clean your balls!

Two Gay people in Blackberry Commercial

In this recent Blackberry commercial that is playing a lot, there are two gay men that seem to have an Interior Design company in West Hollywood . One of them sport a very retro-queer mustache. What do you think Most responses on YouTube have been positive. I think it is very forward thinking and I like how (even if they are real people or actors playing characters) they are showing feminine gay people that aren't meant to be caractures. Yes, the mustache is a bit much but faces need to be out there, to show the whole rainbow spectrum of gay people. Butch, fem, everything.

Praying to the Virgin Mary in "Devil" Trailer

In the trailer (TV commercial version) for the thriller movie Devil, we hear a Hispanic security guard praying in Spanish. This a prayer to the Virgin Mary, I grew up Catholic, I had to learn that one and the one to the lord himself. It is also known as The Night Chronicles: Devil and it was written by Brian Nelson and directed by Drew Dowdle and John Erick Dowdle. Couldn't find the video on youtube.

Here it is:

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

CapriSun's Disrespectoids: Killing Children

For more than a year, Caprisun fruit juice has had an advertisement campaign called The Disrepectoids, in which children disrespect the Caprisun pouch (Respect the Pouch) and become strange objects based on the assault that have done to the juice drink. Each has a unique name and you can play several games on their website. For example, a boy's head is replaced by a Bobble Head replica of his head (below); a boy poked holes in a pouch so he now has holes in his body; a girl becomes an inanimate pogo stick (above); a girl becomes an inanimate replica of herself in balloons in the style of balloon animals; a girl becomes whoopie cushion replica of herself but can still move, see, and speak; a boy becomes a pool toy turtle but with his real head; a boy becomes his dog's chew toy; a girl becomes an inanimate sand statue that breaks away because of the ocean tide. So basically all these kids are dead, except for the boy with the holes, the whoopie cushion girl, and the turtle boy, but they are basically freaks who can barely live now. I am surprised parents haven't complained yet.

McDonald's French Commercial

I got to talk about this! I am not crazy about McDoanlds, I still go there but I don't eat every month because of the nature of the food and the chemicals (greasy food and the french fries don't turn black if stays in a container for a month). The commercial features a father and son, the son is talking to a romantic interest on the phone, hangs up when the dad comes. The dad says how he looks like him and he was a lady-killer and that too bad he goes to an all-boy school, but it is suggested that the son is gay. The ending tag line is "Come as you are." Very commendable by the makers to do this. Too bad it wouldn't go as well in the USA. But it isn't that overt in the ad either. It is not ballant. It would have been more brave it was more 'out' that he had a boyfriend.

Willy Wonka movie infulences commercials and promos

An AT&T commercial used a song Gene Wilder sung in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" about imagination, while a recent Lost promo had a quote from the movie. So far, that's 2 points for the original movie and a big fat ZERO for Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Taco Bell Commercial Announcers should be more proficient in Spanish

There is this new Taco Bell commercial where the announcer pronounces 'Tortilla' wrong. He says "Tor-til-la" but it is pronounced "Tor-tea-yah." This isn't the first time it happens. Once for their Queso commercials, the actors in the commercial kept saying 'Kay-so' when it is 'Keh-so.'

I don't like how only female celebrities are in those Snickers commercials and treated negatively

These are two commercials for Snickers featuring female celebrities. One features Betty White, as a guy who is hungry and returns to normal with Snickers. The other features Aretha Franklin as a 'diva' and Liza Minnelli. I would be okay with these commercials if they featured a male celebrity. I am not calling them sexist, because it probably was not their intention. For me, it unintentionally features that men can become feminine and inappropriate behavior for men if they are hungry, hence they become women. Okay, maybe it's a little sexist. If they had an old male celebrity (like Abe Vigoda at the end of the White ad) or a jackhole and say they are acting like a jackhole, it would be more even.

Twilight Parody Commercials

Tobacco Free Florida has a PSA with actors doing a Twilight rip-off and they are stopped by a director because they are covering a billboard for tobacco.

A vampire is about to turn his 'Bella' but he notices she has low AT&T coverage, so he goes for three chicks with Verizon. A wolf then winks his eye to her. This is a Verizon commercial.

In the Spanish version, the wolf winks at her and the girl scoffs in disgust. I couldn't find it.

ManCrunch commercial pulled off Superbowl

There has always been some controversy over the Super Bowl, this year there is talk about the Tim Tebow/Anti-Abortion Ad. But now there has been one victim due to CBS. They pulled out a commercial. The commercial belongs to ManCrush, a gay dating site, which i can't find the link too. I think the company had very little money because the commercial looks very cheap in quality. When I saw the setup, I already knew what the commercial was going to be about. Oh, here is the link. So yeah, the commercial is tame but I think for the SuperBowl, it is not for the right audience. There is football fans that happen to be gay and watch the SuperBowl, like me, but you know, the majority of the audience are heterosexual.

So if they don't want the commercial, fine, whatever. But as a regular commercial, it shouldn't be pulled regularly, if it was to air on anything else. It's sad but like the women on the View said about this, it is hard on parents as a family event, as many hetero 'American' families freak out about this stuff. While more open-minded families don't give a football about it to explaining it to their kids. The View didn't show the part when the black guy looks shocked at the two kissing guys. It was so hilarious when I saw it.

Here is a view against the commercial:

Is Varlie Bertinelli old enough to be Sara Rue's mother?

In a Jenny Craig commercial, actress Varlie Bertinelli ("One Day at a time") is forced to say she is old enough to be actress Sara Rue's ("Less than Perfect") mother. Varlie was born in 1960 and Sara was born in 1979, they are 18 years and 8 months apart. So yeah, I guess Varlie could have given birth to Sara at age 18. Her son Wolfgang is 19 years old.

Comcast Commercials with ditzy women

There are these two annoying commercials that keep airing again and again and driving me crazy. I can't find the video, but one is about a woman named Jen who always is surfing the internet and finding out 'information'--just useless trivia. For example, "Did you hear about the man that is turning into a tree?" "This woman fell in love with the Eiffel tower and married it!" And another woman who just can't stop talking. She then goes, "Where was I going with that?" And the female narrator says, "It doesn't matter where is going with that..." If it doesn't matter, then why even mention it? I am afraid these two Comcast commercials make sound like these women are ditzy and all their costumers want is to talk and talk and are dumb. They are belittling their costumers. And these commercials are annoying, not as irritating as others, but still. ANd I am tired of hearing, "And in Amebia (sp), I heard..."
