Sexist AT&T commercial

"In this U-verse spot, we open on a young boy and girl on the edge of a pool in their backyard. They're watching Team USA compete in an Olympic swimming race on a TV on the back patio. The girl's teenage sister is standing next to the TV and starts ranting how good these kids have it because they're able to move the TV around wherever. While talking, she's trying to blow up an inner tube using a handheld pump. But the pump isn't working. When the young girl points this out, she gives up, and throws down the float in frustration."

Little black boy tells teenager sister "You talk a lot." Sexist commercial. Just because she talks a lot, it is worth mentioning and that is all he has worth to say. Little boy, talking is not a bad thing. She is smart, you are not if you don't believe in free speech. But of course it is not the children, it is the adult writers who wrote it.

Lady Gaga - Judas -- That Aint' Stephen Dorff -- It's Norman Reedus

"I like the lipstick part, because that was sort of last minute," the "Walking Dead" star said. "She just jumped up [and was like], 'I have this great idea. I'm gonna put lipstick in front of you, and right before you kiss Jesus, I'm going to pull out this gun, and I'm gonna pull the trigger, and then a lipstick's [gonna come out], and then I'm going to put it on you like I'm enabling the kiss!'

Many people think the dude in the video is Stephen Dorff ("Blade") but he was in the second Blade: Blade II and the Walking Dead. "My reaction when I saw it? I was excited to see my motorcycle in it first off, 'cause that's my bike that I ride, and I thought it was really good," he said. "I thought that [co-director] Laurieann [Gibson] did a really good job and Gaga did a good job, and I know there's a lot of work put into it, and I could see all the work on the screen, so I liked it."

I love Norman Reedus, he is an awesome actor and awesome guy and has never got his credit where credit is due. Sorry guys, he has a wife and kids and straight, but still cool. Now a pressing question, who played Jesus?

He is Rick Gonzalez of Coach Carter and short-lived CW series "Repaer."

Justice - Cilivization in Adidas Commercial

Justice's new song 'Civilization' is in new Adidas ads here in America and I swear it sounds like they were saying 'The beating of Megatron.' But here is the real lyric:

The beating of a million drums.
The fire of a million guns.
The mother of a million sons.

TV Shows about Young Witches/Wizards with more 'mature' intros

For the Fourth Season of 'Wizards of Waverly Place', there is a new intro sequence. The old sequence was more child-like, interactive and looked like it cost a lot to make it. The new one looked like it didn't cost as much, that it did cost a great amount of money but it wasn't as much as the last one. The first song was sung by Selena Gomez but the new one is a remix, a more club mix, which sounds a bit like Selena's band. This reminds me of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, a sitcom that aired in the 90's on ABC and then later the WB with Melissa Joan Hart. The first sequence was just Sabrina, changing into different outfits. For the fourth season, it was changed to a club techno song with the whole cast in bubbles and other scenes in bubbles and the ending is very unbecoming of a sitcom, a very ominous mystical end.

I have a feeling Melissa Joan Hart was behind the change of her show's intro in the fourth season because she always wanted the show to be more mature, in the sixth season intro--in which she went to college, it showed her partying in a club---which rarely happened on the actual show. She even wanted the WB to change the name of the show to Sabrina, as Sabrina was no longer a teenager. Anyway, I think much like MJH, Selena was behind the change of the new intro, to show she's more mature and cool. But the show hasn't changed in mood as much from season 3, maybe from the first season but not as mature as the intro suggests. Who exactly do they think theya re selling with this intro? The show is for kids, not club kids. Anyhoo, I find it curious that both new sequences have the casts in circles (Bubbles and Crystal Balls). Judge yourself:

Beauty and the Beast Comparison between Original and Extended Edition

The "Human Again" sequence was added to Beauty and the Beast for the 2002 DVD (after the duet "Something There"). It has been re-released once again on DVD this week and I say thank god because the 2002 DVD was impossible to find and out of print. The new one comes with new extras... only available on Blu Ray unfortunately. I don't have Blu Ray so I can't see it but luckily it came with regular DVD, so I can see it, it has the three versions--regular, the extended version and the unfinished one that showed in New York (which is a fun watch). Anyway, I have never seen anyone compare the scenes after "Human Again" because in that new sequence, the gang cleans the house---so the Beast's room has been spruced up, but up until Belle leaves, so logic tells us the Beast messed up his room again because she left.

The "Human Again" sequence was added immediately before Beast takes his bath, as you can see, they fixed the torn sheets, fixed the mirror and cleaned up the floor.

And as you can see below, Lumiere's chair has been changed to some sort of footstool probably because the chair was at an angle and it would be too much to add a chair.

It seems Cogsworth's movements had been changed a bit, including one animation I loved and I have no idea to why they changed it.

Now here it is the part, it is to after Belle leaves...

Cogsworth asks Beast 'Why?' and he does it in a dramatic fashion. This animation has completely been redone and I have not seen anyone mention it online. It is not even mentioned in the Director's Commentary. As you can see, in the new one, he has barely any shadow and Beast's tail is barely in the shot. Cogsworth does a more subtle 'why' looking upwards. I loved the way he used to do it. I've been trying to make a video of it but having great difficulty in doing so.

Huggies Commercial using same baby for both genders

There is this Huggies Commercial in which has a 1 year old and his parents and family and the baby communicates through a puppet, shocking the parents. In the first version, it is a boy and it is harsh, he says his dad blames him for gas. But now there is a girl version that uses the same baby and it is the same exact commercial, but a female voice and it is a little softer, it is about what the girl wants. I am all for gender equality, but this is really awkward.

Jaime Pressley in Raunchy Axe Commercial

I just recently saw this commercial but apparently it has been around longer. This Youtube video below has been online since January. It is way too obvious an raunchy and I am surprised Jaime Pressley participated in this. Clean your balls!

Two Gay people in Blackberry Commercial

In this recent Blackberry commercial that is playing a lot, there are two gay men that seem to have an Interior Design company in West Hollywood . One of them sport a very retro-queer mustache. What do you think Most responses on YouTube have been positive. I think it is very forward thinking and I like how (even if they are real people or actors playing characters) they are showing feminine gay people that aren't meant to be caractures. Yes, the mustache is a bit much but faces need to be out there, to show the whole rainbow spectrum of gay people. Butch, fem, everything.

Hilary Duff in GLSEN PSA

I can't believe this came from Hilary Duff's mouth! In this new PSA from GLSEN (Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network), she appears in a store where two teenage girls say "that's so gay." I have been fighting this for years! I hate it when my nephew said 'that's so gay' when he meant it was something negative. Hilary told the girl "You wouldn't want someone to say 'that's so a girl in a ugly top.'" or something like that. Great PSA! Lots of people who say 'that's so gay' think I'm being 'too sensitive' and say it is not anti-gay. But come and think of it, people say 'I'm Straight' for 'I'm good' and Straight is a positive thing and Gay is a negative thing. Even on "The Office", Michael Scott proved how it has became confused when he says "Gay used to mean happy, then it meant something dumb and now it means Homosexual."

McDonald's French Commercial

I got to talk about this! I am not crazy about McDoanlds, I still go there but I don't eat every month because of the nature of the food and the chemicals (greasy food and the french fries don't turn black if stays in a container for a month). The commercial features a father and son, the son is talking to a romantic interest on the phone, hangs up when the dad comes. The dad says how he looks like him and he was a lady-killer and that too bad he goes to an all-boy school, but it is suggested that the son is gay. The ending tag line is "Come as you are." Very commendable by the makers to do this. Too bad it wouldn't go as well in the USA. But it isn't that overt in the ad either. It is not ballant. It would have been more brave it was more 'out' that he had a boyfriend.

I don't like how only female celebrities are in those Snickers commercials and treated negatively

These are two commercials for Snickers featuring female celebrities. One features Betty White, as a guy who is hungry and returns to normal with Snickers. The other features Aretha Franklin as a 'diva' and Liza Minnelli. I would be okay with these commercials if they featured a male celebrity. I am not calling them sexist, because it probably was not their intention. For me, it unintentionally features that men can become feminine and inappropriate behavior for men if they are hungry, hence they become women. Okay, maybe it's a little sexist. If they had an old male celebrity (like Abe Vigoda at the end of the White ad) or a jackhole and say they are acting like a jackhole, it would be more even.

Twilight Parody Commercials

Tobacco Free Florida has a PSA with actors doing a Twilight rip-off and they are stopped by a director because they are covering a billboard for tobacco.

A vampire is about to turn his 'Bella' but he notices she has low AT&T coverage, so he goes for three chicks with Verizon. A wolf then winks his eye to her. This is a Verizon commercial.

In the Spanish version, the wolf winks at her and the girl scoffs in disgust. I couldn't find it.

ManCrunch commercial pulled off Superbowl

There has always been some controversy over the Super Bowl, this year there is talk about the Tim Tebow/Anti-Abortion Ad. But now there has been one victim due to CBS. They pulled out a commercial. The commercial belongs to ManCrush, a gay dating site, which i can't find the link too. I think the company had very little money because the commercial looks very cheap in quality. When I saw the setup, I already knew what the commercial was going to be about. Oh, here is the link. So yeah, the commercial is tame but I think for the SuperBowl, it is not for the right audience. There is football fans that happen to be gay and watch the SuperBowl, like me, but you know, the majority of the audience are heterosexual.

So if they don't want the commercial, fine, whatever. But as a regular commercial, it shouldn't be pulled regularly, if it was to air on anything else. It's sad but like the women on the View said about this, it is hard on parents as a family event, as many hetero 'American' families freak out about this stuff. While more open-minded families don't give a football about it to explaining it to their kids. The View didn't show the part when the black guy looks shocked at the two kissing guys. It was so hilarious when I saw it.

Here is a view against the commercial:

Josh Brolin hears my 'woo' on the Tonight Show

I was in the audience of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 26th with guest Josh Brolin (The Goonies, Milk, No Country for Old Men).

I 'wooed' in the monologue when Jay mentioned 'gay' and booed when he said about the intern, but that didn't come out. Then with Josh Brolin, I 'wooed' after Jay said Milk. It didn't come off on camera, I thought everyone was going to 'woo' but they didn't so I lowered my voice. I was surprised that he heard me! Then when he said there was only one gay guy, I 'wooed' loudly but I guess someone else did too.

Guitar Hero Commercial: No No No

I liked the first three but not the last one. The David Cook/David Archuleta Guitar Hero commercial was strange enough (Mormon boxers on a 17 year-old anyone? cringe factor). But now for this 'Rock Band' competition game from Guitar Hero commercial... they gathered along four athletes and the strangest combo ever. Tony Hawk? A bit played out, but fine, dunno how I feel about the helmet. Alex Rodriguez? Okay, fine, whatever. They didn't make him wear a helmet. Michael Phelps? Awesome! Great! Should have been just him! But awk! What?!! Mr. Raped a teen girl Kobe???! What the frak? I mean, okay, maybe he wasn't guilty but no one wants to see him in underwear, he was in nylon shorts but still.. thinking about the sequence, from Tom Cruise's Risking Business and we got to see Cruise's tighty whities, and that thought with Kobe. Eek. And it was kinda cool that Michael Phelps didn't wear briefs but his siwmmer trunks. Wish we saw more.
