Dream Casting: Batgirl and Gotham Girls

Batgirl is coming up directed by Joss Whedon and not much details have been revealed yet but this is who I picture for the role. And also Gotham Girls, which will have Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. The Batgirl I would want is the daughter of Commissioner Gordon and I know Joss Whedon would probably have her be a teenager or in her 20's. So it would be nice to have her mother. I like the idea of having them living in an apartment and Barbara Gordon leaving from an outside staircase or scaling the building. The mother doesn't necessarily have to be a homemaker, she could be a scientist or a teacher.

Batgirl
 Batgirl/Barbara Gordon
Most likely Joss Whedon will cast young and an unknown. I like Meaghan Martin from the short-lived "Ten Things I hate about you" and "Awkward" (where she played Julie). She's in her mid-twenties, maybe they will go the teenage route. In that case, there is Madelaine Petsch of Riverdale. Some people are saying Emma Stone but I think she might be too mature for a teenage Batgirl. If they chose Cassandra Cain to be Batgirl, the actress they pick should be good at comedy, drama, good at drawing audiences in with true emotion and of course kick-ass at the action scenes.

 Commissioner James Gordon
Even though Ben Mckenzie is doing a great job as Jim Gordon on Gotham TV series, I think Batgirl's dad should be a little older but not too old. I think he should not be a fat old guy but a capable man.

Barbara Kean-Gordon
I think I would want Michelle Pferrier as a myth gag but also she has shone her comedy-drama-action skills in not only Batman Returns but also Stardust. I think she should have a career and have a partnership like relationship with Jim but be vcry busy with work. Also she should have more keen knowledge that maybe her daughter is Batgirl. But of course this would be all moot if they chose Cassandra Cain as Batgirl instead of Barbara Gordon.

Gotham Girl Sirens
 Poison Ivy/Pamela Isley
On the other hand I think Emma Stone would make a good Poison Ivy, not because of her trademark red hair but her snide talk, sexiness and overall genre-jumping with no skips. She can handle drama, comedy and action and go from crying to laughing at a drop of a hat.

Catwoman/Selina Kyle
Priyanka Chopra of Quantico would be a good choice for Catwoman. She is sultry and can handle drama and action. Catwoman has been played before by diverse women such as Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriweather and Ertha Kit in both the big and small screen.

Dream Casting: Doom Patrol

There is no news that Doom Patrol will be adapted into a film, but I think the comics has potential. Doom Patrol is a DC comics in 1963 that has a lot of resemblance to X-Men. So much that the creators have noted this. A group of mutants or freaks lead by a man in a wheelchair that goes against the Brotherhood of Evil. Even similarities to Fantastic Four. The current Doom Patrol has changed since and included Teen Titans staple Beast Boy. Since the X-Men franchise is imploding, Warner Bros and DC Comics could grow on Doom Patrol. A potential adaption can focus on how disenfranchised the group is and given a purpose after being rejected.

The Chief
Dr. Niles Caulder is a paraplegic gifted with a genius-level intellect. Caulder uses his scientific knowledge to develop numerous inventions and innovations that have made him wealthy. To make it different, I would change the Chief to a female, maybe Gina Tores, best known for Angel, Firefly and Westworld and also being wife to Laurence Fishburne. She has a wonderful charisma, humor and mother-like grandiose. In the comics, he is generally powerless but at one point gains Kryptonian powers but in the end, I would leave the Chief just a super genius. I guess I would call her Nancy Caulder.

Robotman
Cliff Steele became Robotman, initially dubbed Automaton, after a race car accident destroyed his body. Caulder subsequently placed Cliff's intact brain into a robotic body. After the operation, Cliff suffered from frequent depression. In my version, he would be called Automaton because Robotman is too clunky of a name. Caulder would be responsible of the accident but not race car but of a prototype rocket.  Teddy Sears did a great job as Zoom in The Flash but I think he could call sympathy as a man disconnected and not feeling like a man. Also I would love to see him as a robot, malfunctioning and perfectly built.

Negative Man
Larry Trainor sees himself as a victim as much as a hero, and his superpower as an infection rather than a blessing.  He is accidentally exposed to a radioactive field in the atmosphere while piloting a test plane. This experience leaves him radioactive himself, but also gives him the ability to release a negatively charged energy being from his body; the being, also referred to as Negative Man. In later comics, he can surround himself with it so I would have both abilities. Since he is mostly in bandages, he can be any actor. Who he has such a great voice is Luke Hemsworth.

Elasti-Girl
Rita Farr is exposed to unusual volcanic gases and discovers that she can expand or shrink her body at will—from hundreds of feet tall to mere inches in height. When she gains greater control of her powers, she discovers that she can enlarge one limb at a time. In the comics, she was an actress but I would change it to a work-a-day job. She would be the audience surrogate, more like a regular person. Since the Incredibles had an Elasti-Girl, here she could be called Elasti-Woman, Elasti-Lady or Miss Elastic. Elisabeth Moss of Mad Men would be a good fit as she is plucky, funny and can 'bring the feels.'

Element Woman
Emily Sung  could transform her body into any of the elements naturally found in the human body and shape them at her will. She can change her hair color using metals, and she can create silicate faces that fall off after a while. She uses the faces for ashtrays. She is not an original member but I think she would be useful. She has had different origins in the comics but in this version she can a snarker and strong character. Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls, Thor) is a defiant snarker.

Dream Casting: New Mutants

Rumors are 20th Century Fox wants to adapt the Marvel comics "New Mutants." "New Mutants" is an extension of X-Men, Like its parent title, It featured a large ensemble cast, including the introduction of Deadpool. With the end of the first series, the characters were relaunched as X-Force in a new series. Sunspot was one of the main characters, he was played by Adan Canto in X-Men: Future Days of Past.

Wolfsbane
A female werewolf. Pretty much can be played by any actress but I think someone like Shailene Woodley like Willow Shields of Hunger Games can handle it. Rahne was a shy emotionally repressed girl. She's 16 but I guess she will be of age once the movie is made.

Cypher
Doug Ramsey is a mutant with the ability to easily understand any language, whether verbal or written. He later forms a relationship with Wolfsbane. Even one form of Legion had a crush on him. I was thinking of Ross Lynch from Austin & Ally.

 Cannonball
Sam Guthrie is a mutant who uses the ability to fly at jet speeds while encased in an impenetrable force field. Austin Butler who has been in Switched At Birth and The Shannara Chronicles

Karma
Karma is a mutant endowed with the ability to seize control of another's mind, though she has sometimes been depicted with other more extensive psionic abilities. Maybe Ardan Cho from Teen Wolf. She can make an audience feel.

Mirage
Danielle Moonstar originally possessed the psionic/psychic ability to telepathically create illusions of her opponents' fears or wishes. She later developed a wide range of psionic and energy manipulation powers. Since she is Native-American and there aren't many popular actrsses that fit that discription, I imagine this would be a newcomer.

Chamber
Was part of Generation X and New Warriors but I like this character so much I would squeeze him into New Mutants to replace Sunspot. Jonothon Starsmore possessed the ability to cast energy blasts from his chest. He had limited control of his power and destroyed much of his chest and lower face when his powers emerged. They did a Generation X TV Movie in the 90's and he was not in it because the special effets were not up to par back then. The special effects could definitely be done now. Thomas Barbusca od Preacher and Middle School is young but he again will be of age by the time the movie is made.

My Idea/Dream Casting: Young Avengers TV Series

With Jessica Jones and Daredevil doing really well on Netflix and ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter not pleasing fans, I see more opportunity for TV series from Marvel. My idea is the popular comic Young Avengers, young superheroes that are sort of inspired by the adult Avengers. I'm not the only one thinking this: http://www.mtv.com/news/1715617/new-marvel-tv-show-ideas/

Plot:
Superpowered teens team up and defeat a villain but one of the Avengers come in and confiscate their stuff and threaten to tell their parents. The Young Avengers save the day and prove themselves to the Avenger. In the comics, it was Iron Man and Captain America. But if this will be on TV, they can either go with Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) or even Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson). Most dream casts online have included Iron Lad or Spider-Woman but I decided to steer clear to it and focus on the power couple of Wiccan and Hulkling.

Teddy Altman/Hulking
Description: Hulking in the comics is the hybrid offspring of a Kree/Skrull mating. Hulking is usually easygoing, polite and respectful, and only really loses his temper after extreme provocation. While he sometimes adopts an aggressive persona to intimidate when ’Hulked-up‘, he rarely actually gets angry, usually only at serious threats to those close to him, particularly Wiccan.
Powers: His shapeshifting abilities allow him to impersonate others, alter parts of his body or add entirely new abilities. He can add claws, extend his reach, create body armor, or grow wings.
Dream Cast Actor: My dream casting would be Peyton Meyer (Lucas in "Girl Meets World") who is still a teenager and has that 'awe shucks' appeal.

Billy Kaplan/Wiccan
Description: Regularly bullied in school because of his homosexuality. While patterning himself after Thor in the guise of 'Asgardian,' he flew and did lightning based spells. By stating an intent and focusing on the outcome,  In the comics, he is linked to Scarlet Witch but if they can't get the actress for the show, they can cut that out or allude to it like CBS' Supergirl has done with Superman. Billy is generally even-tempered, except when Hulkling is in serious trouble. While he’s still easily rattled in combat, he generally keeps a cool head, and can get irritated by Hulkling’s impulsiveness.
Powers: Wiccan is capable of mass teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis, portal creation, clairvoyance, mind control, pyrokinesis, telekinetic force beams and etc.
Dream Cast Actor: Keir Gilchrist of United States of Tara and It Follows, many fans have agreed he would be a perfect fit.

Kate Bishop/Hawkeye
Description: She is the sort-of co-leader of the Young Avengers for a time in the comics, I say in my imagination of the TV series she is the active leader. To avoid confusion, I might just refer her to as Kate. Kate comes from a rich family and is not comfortable with it. Self-confident and forthright, Kate can be outspoken, and has no hesitation about standing up to anyone. If she believes them to be wrong she will just ignore their advice as soon as they’re out of sight.
Powers: Kate is highly skilled at archery, fencing, swordsmanship, jujitsu, boxing, and other forms of combat. She carries two battle staves similar to those once used by Mockingbird, a sword similar to the Swordsman's, as well as Clint Barton's bow and arrows. In the comics, Black Panther had also supplied her with trick arrows.
Dream Cast Actor: Sarah Hayley Orrantia of the Goldbergs (Erica Goldberg), she is also a singer/songwriter, having been on the show "X Factor." She is hilarious on the show.

 Tommy Shepard/Speed
Description: In the comics, the team find him in a high-powered facility in Springfield that Kate initially describes as "just juvie", though the facility and its staff are equipped with advanced offensive and defensive technology such as robotic suits and power dampening containment cells. Tommy is there because he "accidentally" vaporized his school. When they release him from his cell, it is immediately noted that Tommy, a white-haired speedster, bears a striking resemblance to Billy ("twin-like") and Quicksilver, sharing the latter's hair color and similar abilities. In fact, spoiler alert: they are indeed brothers.
Powers: Speed is a mutant with the power to move and accelerate at speeds far beyond those of normal human beings. His physiology is designed to move at high speeds which also grants him superhuman reflexes, agility, and durability.
Dream Cast Actor: Thomas McDonell plays Finn in "The 100", he was the bad boy in Disney's Prom and has appeared on shows like "Suburgatory" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

Ms. America/America Chavez
Description: A Latin-American LGBT teenager named America Chavez was raised by her mothers in the Utopian Parallel, a dimension out of time and in the presence of the Demiurge. In the comics, America's mothers sacrificed themselves to seal the black holes pulling Utopia into the Multiverse resulting in their particles being smeared across the Multiverse itself. She is quite a tough independent staunch personality and disposition, and has independent sass and anger issues in Young Avengers,
Powers: She appears to have inherited or absorbed some or all of her superpowers from the Demiurge's ambient magical presence. She possesses superhuman strength and move at super speeds, and the power of flight. Chavez also has the power to kick open holes in reality, allowing her and her teammates to travel through the multiverse and into other dimensions.
Dream Cast Actress: Cierra Ramirez from The Fosters on Freeform (ABC Family).

Stature/Cassandra Lang
Description: Even though she appeared in Ant-Man film as a little girl, we don't know exactly where this series can take place. So either it is made a few years later or takes place years in the future. The show could have interesting daddy issues sub-plot if they manage to get Paul Rudd to guest star.
Powers: Cassie Lang has the ability to increase and decrease her size. Her abilities seemed to be fueled by her emotions. She grows when she gets angry and shrinks when she feels guilty.
Dream Cast Actress: Skyler Samuels from Scream Queens

Dream Casting: Captain N: The Game Master

Captain N was a 1989-1991 animated series that incorporated elements from Nintendo games. It starred a teenager named Kevin who gets sucked into Videoland to aid Princess Lana (exclusively for the series), Simon Belmont of Castlevania and other games, Megaman of the Megaman games, Kid Icarus (Pit from the Kid Icarus games), and semi-anthropomorphic Gameboy. They fight against Mother Brain of Metroid, Eggplant Wizard (villain of Kid Icarus), King Hippo (villain of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!) and Dr. Willy (Megaman villain). If they did this again, the characters might change as the most popular Nintendo characters these days are (besides Mario) Link (from Zelda), Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Metroid, Kirby, etc. Well for old times sake, I'll 'dreamcast' the originals and a few others. I wouldn't add Pokemon because it is such a huge world, I wouldn't use Link and Zelda because Nintendo has said they don't want a Zelda movie since Link is supposed to be the gamers. I couldn't have Gameboy or even a DS because a DS couldn't have that sort of personality a Gameboy had in the cartoon.

Captain N
I had a crush on the actor who played the live-action Kevin in the beginning, he just shot that one scene and was uncredited so never seen him again. In reality, a gamer like him would not be a football jock with a letterman jacket but a nerdy guy. These days there are cute nerds or adorkable guys. Zachary Gordon from Diary of a Wimpy Kid is now 17 and I think he'd do a great job, he's handsome but accessible. Instead of a Nintendo gun, he could have the Wii U controller.

Princess Lana
Lana was passive as a princess back in the late 80's but occasionally kicked a little butt. I don't like those princesses that kick butt, over sexualized but have no personality either. So I would want an equal to Captain N, a fighter, flawed but with personality and not helpless. I guess I'd go with Bella Thorne (Shake It Up, Scream Queens) but I'm sure in a few years, she'll be as forgotten as Miranda Cosgrove.

Simon Belmont
Simon was portrayed as stuck up and selfish in the cartoon, maybe he can be more of a silent warrior. In his last game, he had red hair and was a brute while in the cartoon, he was portrayed as an adventurer. I would like to see Taylor Kitsch who played John Carter, everyone gave him a bum rap but I think he'd do a good job.

Kid Icarus
He was portrayed as a plucky guy in the cartoon and small. Pit in the current games is portrayed much bigger. I would change him to be female but I am sure purists wouldn't like that. This one I couldn't come up with an actor.

 Megaman
He was portrayed as small and a kid in the cartoon, in the games and his own series, he is much taller and a little older. In this incarnation, I would see it as an aggressor and competitor to Captain N, a nick on his shoulder, a sort of teenage plucky guy. That's why I'd pick Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games). He is cute, short, and a great actor, plus I wouldn't want him to be CGI or motion capture but be in the same suit.

Samus Aran
I was not going to use Samus of Metroid but I was going to use Donkey Kong but I realized we had too many males and not enough females. I would want Samus to have her own movie but maybe this could launch her into her own movie like Avengers has. Rita Volk would be a good choice, she plays Amy on Faking It on MTV. Samus appeared in a Captain N comic and he had a crush on her, I would like to see a love triangle between Samus, Kevin and Lana.

Kirby
This character would be CGI. I would add him as the 'cute' character. He was popular in the 90's and popular again. I would see him as a silent character.

Mother Brain
The main villain of Metroid and main villain of Captain N, she would obviously be CGI, a great voice would've been Joan Rivers but who would also be good is the voice of Ursula from the Little Mermaid.. Pat Caroll.

Eggplant Wizard
Kid Icarus' villain, he was a slapstick sidekick in the cartoon. I decided not to use King Hippo as the game Mike Tyson's Punch Out is pretty much forgotten. He of course would be CGI. Michael Donovan did his voice in the original and still does voices for stuff like Ninjago and Lego Star Wars so I don't see why he couldn't do it again.

King Dedede
Villain of Kirby, sometimes collaborates with him but I can him taking King Hippo's place as Eggplant Wizard's sidekick. He of course would be CGI. I would like to see Matthew Moy (Han from 2 Broke Girls) as his voice.

Dr. Willy
Megaman's villain, he can be the evil scientist sidekick of Mother Brain. I don't know why but I would picture super handsome John Slattery from Mad Men.
