Okay, it has been a week since Castro gave his power to his brother because he is in the hospital and all Cubans in Miami celebrated in Calle Ocho. All of ya'll seen them going crazy and rejoicing and it hasn't even been said that Fidel is dead yet! I consider that he is not dead until it is announced. It might seem rash. Let me explain why they are celebrated in such a way. They went through hell with communism. Also, the reason they did it so soon... now, I am trying not to be prejudice... but that's the Cuban way. They do everything early and preemptive. It's like if the devil was no more and hell froze, thats how they feel. Also, the reaosn I put quotes over Exiles and because they call themselves that but... hell they have been here so long, why not call themselves Cuban-Americans? They still consider themselves 'Cubans'.Explaining the title: I am thirty-something Latino who has a fondness for the Japanese culture and speak Spanglish--Spanish and English. Some people say "Span-English" so I mixed it with "Engrish," which is how some Japanese pronounce English.

Cuban 'Exiles' Celebrate... Lemme Explain

Fidel Castro is not even dead yet and Little Havana is celebrating
Since last night, people have been crowding in front of the Cuban resturant Versalis (sp) on Calle Ocho in 'Little Havana' here in Miami because Fidel Castro is having surgery and be at the end of his rope. They have been parading and celebrating, rumoring that he is dead (because he did the rare thing to give power to his vice-president brother). But he ain't dead yet. And it is all over the Miami news, even national but it is non-stop here. They even canceled the telenovelas. What I find curious is that U.S. president George W. Bush made a visit to Miami yesterday and made breakfast at Versalis itself. So Versalis had an exicting day yesterday. But very strange.

The Heat Won
As a proud Miami-ian (I want to get out of this city!) I am happy to say that the Miami Heat won the playoffs. Shaq ofcourse mumbling at the press confrence as always. I had a feeling today there would be a seventh game but I was wrong. Yeah, I said it. There was only six. I like basketball out of all sports. I'm not crazy about sports to begin with. They are okay but just not my thing. Bye Dirk. I rather have Manu anyday.
