David Archuleta, a litlte mixed up

What day and age are we in that a young man has to explain what he is doing at a gay club. It is just a club, where people dance and sing and make out, just like any other club. When people found out David Archuleta, former American Idol contestant, went to a gay club. He had to defend it on his Twitter account. “Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform. Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn’t my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn. The upside was that Charice was awesome, and she has an incredible voice.” I find it hilarious that he had to ask before it was a gay club, like as if it was a place to avoid. Plenty of male celebrities, including Justin Timberlake have gone to gay clubs without problems and still remaining their heterosexuality in tact. But of course, Archuleta is a mormon and young and apparently ignorant. He said 'Wasn't my kind of place.'

Now, he said the twitter comments by others were inappropriate. I agree, they were homophobic. I don't believe Archuleta is gay or closeted, I do believe he might be a bit ignorant to gay culture. And it is not his fault. It is because there isn't any proper education about LGBT people and everything is word of mouth and guesses.

Brothers & Sisters - Time After Time - 2 hours Special Review

The show already aired Sunday April 11th 9pm & 10pm but I needed time to think about it. I love Brothers & Sisters, I haven't reviewed one episode. My mom and I watch it religiously, my mom loved it, it probably look two years for her to figure out Kevin was gay. She watches it when she is doing stuff so never looked up, just heard it. Anyway, this was a great episode, well 2 episodes.

We see the Walker siblings in the 80's, when Sarah is a college student, she has a party at the family business. Tommy got drunk and had a car accident, this was the mis-de-direct. We are to believe Tommy was the big secret. Because Nora announces, in real time to the family that they are being blackmailed and are getting money for the company. So the family deduces that the thing Dick York is blackmailing about is Tommy maybe killing a guy. But in the end, they find out it was Kevin. It was very emotional and I think very cool, sort of ground-breaking. What happen was that Kevin had this friend from another school. This friend Aaron (Tyler Neitzel) tried kissing him, they were both drunk and Kevin punched him and they both fought.

Kevin was only 14 at the time and not out yet. The boy fell on the ground off a height like in a dock and got in a coma, and ended up paralyzed. Kevin didn't know, at that moment, his dad came into the scene. His dad only saw the fighting, according to his mom. Parents lied to Kevin, Kevin thought the boy was fine, and not paralyzed. And since Kevin was drunk and young, he barely remembered. Now he discovered the truth and he went to visit Adult Aaron (Christopher Thornton), who is in a wheelchair and happy with his partner. What the guy said to Kevin was to move on and to me it rang like a gay person wrote it. It is not negative, but it is very knowing and the dialogue is not that fluid, it seemed rehearsed. But of course, the guy might have rehearsed that speak for 25 years. So Kevin is having negativity against his mother. After the two parter, I am surprised he is still holding a grudge but I gues it will be a longer arc.

Shelter (2007) Movie Review

This movie came out in 2007 and I just recently discovered it because I was looking up actor Ross Thomas. This movie is one indie movie that is one in a new (awesome) trend in gay uncles or big brothers that have to take care of their little nephew or brother and fall in love. It follows Zach (Trevor Wright), a young man who lives in the ghetto of San Pedro, who says he didn't get accepted in Art school. He surfs and graffiti in some places, as he is an artist. His nephew calls him his 'daddy' as his father is no longer in the picture.

He has an off-again, on-again childhood girlfriend Tori he neglects. Ross Thomas ("Breaking the Edge") plays his best friend Gabe, who goes off to college. Zach goes to the backyard of his house and bumps into Gabe's step-brother Shaun played by Brad Rowe. Anyhoo, Zach and Shaun know each other since they were kids and they re-connect. Even though Brad Rowe (Billy's First Hollywood Screen Kiss), who was 37 at the time and Trevor Wright was 25 at the time, they don't look that much of a mis-match. Zach and Shaun get drunk one night and Shaun kisses Zach. The next day, Zach throws his tongue down Tori's throat. His sister Jeanne warns him about Shaun and doesn't want Shaun near her son Cody because Shaun is gay. Shaun tries to deny who he is but ultimately, after breaking up with Tori for good, he seals the deal with Shaun. But the honeymoon is quickly over when Gabe returns. The night Gabe throws a party at the house, Zach breaks down and breaks up with Shaun.

Like any of these gay indie movies, this one rings true. Even though it has no major camera moves, it is an intimate look at the relationships. Zach's angst and turmoil is understandable and relatable. But there is a lot between the lines. Zach never out says he is gay nor does he let anyone say it. Zach has never had a same-sex relationship or encounter before, but basically he was trying not to be true to feelings or confusion. He wanted to be everything for Tori but couldn't, just didn't know why. He gave up everything (his own sexual identity and happiness) for his family. His sister is not that encouraging, by saying if he was rejected once by the school to not try again. He reveals near the end, when he is accepted by the university once again that he was not rejected the first time but declined to attend.

Oh yes, also got to mention that when Gabe finds out about his step-brother and best friend, he is okay about it and open-minded, but he does bug Zach--asking if he finds a guy hot and if guys give better blowjobs. But Zach isn't having it. Gabe does hug him in the end, saying they are still 'bros.' Thank god this movie has no sad ending, lots of these gay indie movies have sad endings. Well, it is worth the watch. If you wanna show this to your parents, skip one sex scene in the middle. The sex scene is not much, just an alluded to fellatio, and some shirtless kissing. Zach and Jeanne's father is only seen one scene and barely mentioned afterwards. I love this subject (gay uncles taking care of their family) being touched on, the sacrifices young gay people have to do for their families.

Peter Dinklage plays gay character in Death At a Funeral

Frank Oz directs a remake of the British 2007 film Death At a Funeral, the majority of the film is mostly African-American except for James Marsden (Enchanted)--who does a nude scene under what was thought to be Valium--husband to Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Luke Wilson (Old School) and Peter Dinklage (Station Agent). Peter Dinklage wants 30 thousand dollars or he will show incriminating photos. One funny line that Chris Rock says to Martin Lawrence, who plays his brother: "Our father was bromantically involved with a guy who could fit in his pocket and you are mad because he's white?!" Peter Dinklage was in the original film, his character was named Peter, while in this he is Frank but essentially it is the same role. Both trailers have the same jokes! Only the original one had Peter and the dad was Trojans and the new one has them as soldiers. And it was Dollhouse's Alan Tudyk in the nude on the roof.

Oscar 82nd Opening Number

Why tease us with Neil Patrick Harris, with a really awesome opening number with original lyrics. He was a sparkling black tuxedo and held up by two dapper men. The real hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were lowered from above. NPH was great.

Same-Sex Marriage Legalized in D.C.

My grandma called me this morning very excited to tell me that 'Washington' has legalized same-sex marriage, well she said it 'you can get married now.' In actuality, it is Washington, D.C. They have repelled a block to gay marriage, meaning no block, so now it is legal.

First legal Straight male prositute in Nevada compares to Gandhi

Straight male prostitute "Markus" got state approval through the Shady Lady Ranch in Nevada to be the first legal prostitute. But the disturbing part is that he compares himself to Rosa Parks and Gandhi. He's a 25 year-old college dropout from Alabama who left the Marines and returned home to Alabama, finding no job opportunities. He says "wants the world to know he's not available for homosexual sex and that his "sphincter is not for sale." Lord. "It won't be successful," said Arie Mack Moore, owner of the Angel's Ladies Brothel, just north of Beatty. "You can't have both (male and female prostitutes) in the same building or adjacent to each other, in my opinion." A 22-year-old prostitute at Angel's Ladies named "Cuddles" said Markus' unwillingness to see gay males makes the Shady Lady seem sexist and discriminatory. Her brothel services women. "How can you just turn down services because of what someone's preferences is? It comes with the territory. It comes with the business," she said. I have heard of gay prostitutes servicing straight naturally-born women and straight women prostitutes puttng a 'strap-on' to please a male cilent. Yes, this blog is not for the whole family.

Don't Ask Don't Tell Me

Obama stayed on his word to repeal the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy for the U.S. Armed Forces. Mike Mullan, The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff proclaimed that service members should not be forced to "lie about who they are." Joint Chief’s Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen said that they should study for a year the impact before the controversial policy is withdrawn by Congress. Admiral Mike Mullen said there were practical problems in repealing the policy where members had to conceal their sexual orientation if they were homosexual. Like I have said before, if the soldier is professional, then what is the issue? The ones against it say it goes against 'cohesion,' it is already against 'cohesion,' if they want to keep 'cohesion' with straight people, then don't let gay people out forever. But yes, there is the argument that if gay people were open in the military, that would let crazy bigots beat and kill them (which has happened before, even on a soldier that was never confirmed to be same-sex orientated). It is just hilarious how these old stuffy heterosexuals get mad at this. It is like they don't want to appear weak in front of other nations, but it has to do with Gender, like women in the service before.

ManCrunch commercial pulled off Superbowl

There has always been some controversy over the Super Bowl, this year there is talk about the Tim Tebow/Anti-Abortion Ad. But now there has been one victim due to CBS. They pulled out a commercial. The commercial belongs to ManCrush, a gay dating site, which i can't find the link too. I think the company had very little money because the commercial looks very cheap in quality. When I saw the setup, I already knew what the commercial was going to be about. Oh, here is the link. So yeah, the commercial is tame but I think for the SuperBowl, it is not for the right audience. There is football fans that happen to be gay and watch the SuperBowl, like me, but you know, the majority of the audience are heterosexual.

So if they don't want the commercial, fine, whatever. But as a regular commercial, it shouldn't be pulled regularly, if it was to air on anything else. It's sad but like the women on the View said about this, it is hard on parents as a family event, as many hetero 'American' families freak out about this stuff. While more open-minded families don't give a football about it to explaining it to their kids. The View didn't show the part when the black guy looks shocked at the two kissing guys. It was so hilarious when I saw it.

Here is a view against the commercial:

Out Celebrities and where they are now

There is a big thing in Hollywood saying that open gay people wouldn't successful (even though there are plenty of gay people in the industry!!!), but these days, things have changed, thankfully. There were rare cases, but nowadays it is getting safer and safer for gay actors to be successful and people to still believe them when they play a heterosexual character. But some gay actors still want to be anonymous and that's fine. And some agents don't want their straight actors to do more than one gay role because then people will think he's gay (Like Brett Chuckerman who is straight but has played a lot of gay characters). How many 'Out' Celebrities are there out there and still have a job?

Lance Bass
After coming out on his own [3 years ago in 2006], he still doesn't have a real steady job. Supposedly he is producing now.

T.R. Knight
After starring, being outted during [3 years ago in 2006], and leaving "Grey's Anatomy," he is in the musical Parade.

Adam Lambert
After outting himself on June of 2009, six months ago, his album is out and doing well.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia derossi
Ellen came out in 1997 during her hit sitcom's run and the show was canceled the next year. It took six years until she got her hit talk show in 2003. She has paved the road but it has been a rocky road. At least she is still working and biggest example of openly homosexual success. Portia came out in 2005 after dating Ellen, she currently is on the show "Better Off Ted" and they married last year August 2008.

Rosie O' Donnell
She left her talk show in 2002, came out, lost her magazine, went to the View an after much turmoil, she rather be without makeup and staying home. Many can love or hate her, I personally love her as she speaks her mind. But she does indeed very passionate.

Neil Patrick Harris
Another success story like Ellen, his success came late. He came out in 2006, three years ago and has success with "How I Met Your Mother" and award show hosting and stage shows.

Meredith Baxter
"Family Ties" actress came out recently. I'm happy she found love.

Chris Colfer
Newcomer with "Glee," his star just started rising, he is 19 and I am happy he is openly out. It shows how times have changed.

John Barrowman
Openly gay and has been with Scott Gill since 1991. Scottish actor is successful with stage shows and "Torchwood."

Yes, Clay Aiken is openly gay too but he was forced to after much nagging. And there are so many other gay actors, singers and celebrities out there but I thought these were worth mentioning. Only very few aren't "Hot" now. I am sure there are some I am missing.

Barbara Walters interviews Lady gaga and Adam Lambert

I am still kicking myself for not watching the music awards in which Adam kissed a musician, because I can't find it on YouTube. ABC says they don't want Adam again on their network but they are letting him on her special--I have seen commercials only singling him out "I'm Homosexual, get over it." Today on the View, fame hog, opportunist and crabby child Perez Hilton revealed to Barbara that Lady Gaga was dressed like her, in honor of her. Barbara was surprised because she said she was so dressed down and looked good. It's funny Miss Gaga wanted to dress like her, that is so different from most guests on her specials, who are nervous, like Paris Hilton that one time.

Barbara Walters show airs next Wednesday the 9th.

Claire's same sex realtionship on Heroes

Claire's lesbian kiss was all the rage in the media, but what about how it is being treated. Actually Heroes is treating the relationship pretty well, it is a relationship. They have said so. Gretchen starts out as a creepy character but appearances are deceiving, she is a pretty awesome and sweet character. It is not even a lark, just a kiss. They really care about each other. Claire finds love, she finds someone who adores her and knows who she is, her secret. It is actually sweet. Even her dad knows but they don't mention the word 'gay' or 'experimenting,' just relationship. He even invites Gretchen to Thanksgiving when Claire is down. I love the scene a few weeks ago where Claire assumes Grecthen 'has herself figured out' just because she came out and Gretchen clarifies it. Also mentioning that she has dated more men than women. And it's not even like Willow + Tara in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" where Willow discovered she was a lesbian in college. Claire is not going to up and 'come out,' it's private---it was private for Willow and Tara at first too, but I don't think the producers will leave Claire to only be attracted to men, she may just be bisexual, more interesting. Since her highschool friend Zach [Thomas dekker] was bisexual but NBC didn't approve of it and it wasn't officially mentioned on the show.

Auntie Momma--Cleveland Show, a parody of Madea

On the Cleveland Show, a parody of Madea from the Tyler Perry movies called Auntie Momma appeared in tonight's Thanksgiving show. She continues to say "I'm Outrageous!" Cleveland finds out that Auntie Momma was born a man and still has his--pickle, what they called it on the show. It was a great episode because it did not just stay there, Cleveland's nasty father was going to have sex with her and he was going to warn her, but there was a lot of layers. It turns out Auntie Momma was Cleveland's new wife's uncle and when she was young and was without a mama, he became her female adult figure. Well, it was not all great---there was a disturbing sequence with Clint Eastwood in the crapper, it was way darker than anything on Family Guy. Also, Cleveland didn't want his son to touch anything that Auntie touched.

Mick Foley on Daily Show

Mick Foley, formerly of WWE, appeared protecting this boy, threatening anyone that would tease him an call him a 'gaywad.' I would hear 'gaywad' a lot too but I do not know what it is. The boy refuses to stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance until gay people can marry---equal for all anyone? A substitute teacher prodded him to stand up. I am a substitute teacher and I would not force a kid to stand up if she or he really believed in something ethical. Most cases for me is that if they didn't stand up is because they lie and don't want to stand up. Yay to the Kid! More power to him and yay to his parents! And more power and wa-hoo! to Mr. Mick Foley.

Neil Patrick Harris: Versatile

I was wondering about actor Neil Patrick Harris in the bedroom, in the articles below, Harris confessed that his favorite thing about being in a relationship with another man is being able to trade off who's on top and who's on bottom. Harris is indeed versatile everywhere!

Gay Halloween Boasting in NBC Thursday night

The shows on tonight's NBC shows have been boasting about gay Halloween parties. The annoying teenage girl on "Parks and Rec" said gay parties are better, saying it with her bi boyfriend (who dressed as a 'straight guy' and looked just like one of the main characters) and his gay boyfriend. Then on "30 Rock," the straight guy writers Toofer, Lutz and Frank wanted to go to a gay halloween party in order to score with the hot straight women. I've been to a couple of 'gay' Halloween parites, and they are not as different as 'straight' ones, just I get to make out more.

Wanda Sykes gets a Late Night Talk Show but only on Saturdays?

The Wanda Sykes Show premieres November 7th, a Saturday. The Spike Feresten Talk Show has been canceled and the Wanda Sykes Show is to replace Spike and MADtv. Everyone is talking about she is the first Black person to have a late night talk show since Arsenio Hall in 1994. But the Arsenio Hall show was on weeknights. The Wanda Sykes show will only be in Saturday... why can't FOX have the balls to put the show weekly. And come on, since she is a Lesbian, come on, its a sure deal if the show is weekly, because Lesbian talk show hosts have a good track record. And just being on Saturdays, might just have her disappear.

Tim Gunn as Iron Man

Fashion school professor and fashionista, friendly and professional gay man was asked by Marvel Comics to be in their comic, in which he wears the Iron Man outfit. Now, I was reading what some heterosexual comic fans were writing on their blogs, that they weren't sure about it. It is just a one-time thing, guys, relax. I am a fanboy too, gladly, but you know, he is one of the rare gay comic book characters. He was asked to do this, guys. And it is for Models Inc Comic (which might not last that long... again). I say, yay for Tim Gunn! Tim Gunn deserves praise and he is a great teacher with a lot to say. You might think fashion is nothing but he supplies students to express their creativity, talent and dreams.

Myth Busted: Women say Hot Men are Gay

There is a myth that handsome guys are gay. Well, it is more a joke around women. Women say that most good-looking and 'good' men are gay. I am sure it is mostly a joke. I think it might seem that way but it isn't. It all comes down to coveting what isn't yours, unrequited love in a sense. Because I also think about when gay men want to gain the affections of a straight guy. I have to be honest that I have been in a similar situation, and from my own experiences, I can say it wasn't about sex but it depended on the person. You can't help who you are attracted to or who you like, even if it is dismissed as a crush. I hate that, when affection is dismissed simply as a 'crush.' How do 'they' know how I'm feeling. But one of my girlfriends have clarified that I may have a pattern to being attracted to straight men. I have indeed dated and have been in relationships with gay men.

It surprises most men but most gay men prefer masculine or so-called 'str8-acting men,' which means Straight-acting. It is laughable to me this notion. That it is in the term itself, 'acting.' It is just acting. It is not true. If they 'act' straight, wouldn't they be straight and hence attracted to women and not men? So what they mean is masculine, they don't want feminine or 'swishy' men. Anyway, back with my relationships with straight men I might had feelings for. There have been quite a few and they know who they are. They were mostly 'bad boys,' early on when I was a teenager, I believe the appeal was like the 'cool guy' and the 'nerdy fanboy hanger-on.' In some cases, they have almost recripocated or let me fondle them. One even questioned thinking being gay was being easier. I clarified that it wasn't.

Anyway, my whole point that some straight women might prefer gay men and in some cases, gay men might prefer straight men; it bascially it coveting what you can't have.

Bruno hits Number One at the Box Office

Bruno is number one at the Box Office since the weekend of July 10th, but what will happen this weekend? I think Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will knock it out of the water. I think any movie will knock it out of the water. I originally thought Bruno would not make number one because the American public are not so keen in seeing a movie with a gay protagonist or men kissing (also that since Bruno makes out with men in the movie). Everyone has mixed feelings about Bruno, including me. I think Bruno is a double-edged sword for the gay community, one side it can bring negative stereotype feelings to the mass public (what is it that most people remember about Asians, Native-Americans, African-Americans, etc.? Stereotypes!) and on the other side, it can be a statement to who cares about our differences and grow up and just laugh. I really don't know what I feel about Bruno. I didn't like Borat, and it inevitably changed things a bit. But don't get me wrong, I do like Sacha Baron Cohen, I liked him in Taladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, his character was gay and positive and broke stereotypes.
